Can someone tell me this is normal?

So I am 26 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I have felt crazy movements that can be seen and felt from the outside since 16 weeks - despite being told I have an anterior placenta this time (I didn’t last time)

I can’t attach a video but I’ll add screenshots that gives you an idea of the sort of movement I mean, it goes on for 10 minutes and is like it pretty much half the day.. I didn’t have movements like this until much later with my first so it really surprises me and my close friends. This baby is so active and moves about a lot, which is great because it reassures me.

I just want to know whether anyone else experienced this so early on with an anterior placenta!?

I have a high anterior placenta currently 20 weeks pregnant with my second. I have felt movements for about the last 3 weeks and have had some fairly big ones too, but more of a one off around the smaller movements.

You sound like you've got a very happy active little one there :)

Aww how lovely!!! We don't see enough bumps on here 😊

Congratulations on your wriggly baby xx

Krakenes · 31/01/2023 20:49

Yep had exactly the same with my anterior!

Leostratts · 31/01/2023 20:56

@FT123456 Once you start feeling them they don’t stop! It’s very active, makes me worry that it doesn’t sleep enough though! 🤪

@overthinkersanonnymus I’m new to posting but I thought bump pictures would be very common! Thank you - I wonder how it will translate when it’s earth side 😁

@Krakenes Im so glad to hear that! I only ever know of people not feeling much at all with anterior and it’s just been the completely opposite for me 😅

Yes, I had the same. All well. There's more room for them in a uterus which has already been stretched.

Leostratts · 31/01/2023 20:58

@TheShellBeach That makes so much sense! I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of it like that, thank you😊

I had a very wriggly baby, she was super strong at birth and hasn't stopped moving yet 6 years later

Cuppasoupmonster · 31/01/2023 21:52

I have an anterior placenta too, it was posterior with my daughter but this time the movements have been earlier and even stronger!

Leostratts · 06/02/2023 08:16

@TheFutureIs i thought my first was wiggly but this one has made me realise my first wasn’t! My toddler doesn’t stop moving so now I’m wondering what I’ve got myself in for..!

@Cuppasoupmonster literally the exact same situation here! So strange isn’t it!

This sounds like what my baby is like, now I'm 38 weeks and it's so painful! I'm not sleeping so well now and noticed the baby doesn't move much during the night, except the odd wiggle, but is soooo active during the day! The opposite to my daughter who was most active at night!!

Same. I also see the big bumps like in the op pics.

you’re more likely to feel the second baby easier/stronger than the first. And he midwife told me even if it’s an anterior placenta, it depends where it is, it doesn’t mean that automatically you won’t feel anything.
