Struggling to eat- 13w pregnant

I'm 13 weeks pregnant and I'm really struggling with what to eat. It seems like every time I try to eat something I feel nauseous. I'm so worried that I'm not eating enough. Any suggestions on light healthy meals?

Thanks:)

I'm 10 weeks OP and similar. I ate a large 2 course meal last Sunday and afterwards I felt extremely sick as if I wanted to bring it all back up again. Not exciting I know but I tend to now err on side of caution and eat ja lot of dry toast !

Eat what you can, stay hydrated and try not to stress about it. I lived off of apples and bananas. Only foods I could keep down for more than 40 mins. I lost a lot of weight between wks 10 and 14 due to this. Slowly regaining it in late second trimester. Midwife or consultant not concerned at all just told me to keep taking prenatals to keep up with vitamins and minerals.

Agree with Funkypickle to just eat what you can and stay hydrated. I struggled with nausea until week 14 and whilst I felt better after, I still struggle to eat as healthy as I'd like at 27 weeks. Anything rich, spicy, creamy or oily makes me feel awful so just not worth it. The latest thing off my list is anything with sugar/sweeteners - yogurt, certain cereals, fruit juice and diluting juice, certain fruits, biscuits, even anything with pre-made tomato sauces like pizza. I used to cook loads with various proteins and veggies but haven't been able to face it. Now it's Weetabix for breakfast, snacks are banana, tangerines, rice cakes or plain cream crackers and dinner most nights is a chicken salad wrap or breaded fish and chips. It's definitely not the most exciting or nutritious but I've definitely found plain "beige" food easiest to stomach throughout and I know some of my friends have too.

I was the same. I ate whole meal pasta with butter or a light tomato sauce, plain white rice, vegetables and tried to have fruits with lots of water. As long as you're getting something down you're good. I only ate normally once I got to 21 weeks.

Don't worry to much tour body can cope. After 4 horrendous pregnancies sick every day/night till they were born only lost a little weight each time. You could try asking for anti sickness tablets but none worked for me

Eat what you can keep down. I have always eaten healthily except when pregnant. Biscuits help keep the nausea down then bland, tastless stuff that doesn't smell.while it's cooking. I used boil in the bag meals in 1979 because they were sealed up but I don't think you can get them now. Maybe microwave meals will do. TMI but eating Friit Gums makes it less bad on the way up.

Eat what you fancy, when you fancy it. I was only able to stomach mild chilli con carne and steamed rice until about 14 weeks. I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was so worried about not eating healthily but my midwife was very reassuring - keep to sensible portion sizes, ensure I was drinking enough and to take pregnancy multivitamins. I was actually eating exactly what my body needed at that time to grow the placenta.

After 14 weeks I fancied a spaghetti bolognese, which then became different pasta dishes, which led to me eating chicken again and then fish. By 20 weeks I was back into normal meals and eating healthily.

I mean, eating cake 24 hours a day wouldn’t be good, but give yourself a bit of a break. If there’s something you fancy eating then have some.
