Sorry if this is in the wrong place I didn't know where to put it.
I had a c section on the 18/12/22 2 days later I hemorrhaged and had a D&C to remove leftover products. Fast forward to now and I've been told I still have something left, it's 3.3cm apparently, I've tried medical management (tablets) and they did nothing. Now I've been told to wait and see if it passes and if it doesn't it'll be a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic to remove it but have no date set for this to happen.
I'm 6 weeks and 2 days PP and still bleeding, it's mostly bright red but does occasionally go a bit pink (sorry TMI) it's not overly heavy buy definitely not light either.
Any advice or experiences in this please and thank you xx ❤️❤️

Oh dear, I’m sorry you’re having a rough time of it x

I have had retained products. It went on for months. I kept being told to wait for my next period to clear it out. Eventually, I was given the all clear.

Several years down the road, and struggling to conceive again, our fertility clinic did a saline scan (inflated my uterus with saline to get a better view) and found I still had the retained products and it had created scars that were preventing implantation.

All this is to say, if I had my time again, I would push for a second scrape.

I had retained products, had a hyscerosopy about 6 weeks PP, awake with no pain relief offered - don’t do that, it’s very painful!
but the procedure was very straight forward, bit of cramping after but fine. Had no problem conceiving again a few months later (to my surprise!)
Push for it ASAP, as the risk of infection is high.

@CheekyHusky thank you for your reply. I just want all this to be over, I had such a hard time with the pregnancy, the labour and now this. I would rather not have anymore surgery but if it means all this will finally be out behind me I will. The consultant I saw said to wait and see what happened then she will call and arrange the surgery if I need it buy I feel like I've just been pushed to the side. Xx

@Geeds I want it all over asap but I feel like I've just been left and no one around me seems to understand it all. I'm being told to "not think about it" which is a ridiculous statement 😞 xx

@CheekyHusky @Geeds
Also sorry about what you both went through xx

I am almost 5 weeks post TFMR 💔 and still bleeding. It's not heavy and I'm not in any pain, but it's pretty constant and not dying down, and it's bright red. Can I ask if your bleeding was similar?

I spoke to a midwife 2 weeks ago (just mentioned it, as i was only 3.5 weeks post so not overly concerned) who said it wasn't anything to worry about, and probably cos I was back at work. My problem now, 2 weeks on, is I can't seem to get in touch with anyone who wants to listen. I've tried both the midwives and MAU, who both said I need to speak to the other one. I can't get through to my GP. Who did you speak to when you were first concerned?

Michelle99923 · 31/01/2023 16:33

@pebbles3004 Yes my bleeding is still bright red, it's not massively heavy but not exactly light either. It did go pink at one stage for about 3 days and was watery but now it's back to red and normal blood consistency again. Sort of like day 3 of a period.
A Dr tried telling me that bleeding upto 6 weeks pp was normal until she examined me and did a scan and saw the "product" left but they aren't sure if it's a blood clot, tissue or placenta left xx

@Michelle99923 I've been using panty liners for about 2 weeks but I've gone back to pads - i'm defo not filling a pad but it has picked up slightly. Arghhh I'm so fed up with it and don't know who to ring next! 😭

Michelle99923 · 31/01/2023 18:28

@pebbles3004 same for me, not filling a pad but slightly too much for a liner. I'm so stressed and fed up of it all.
Maybe start with your GP and see if they will refer you for a scan x

I had a similar thing happen to me after a vaginal delivery and I ended up going back to surgery after about 8 weeks post partum which was hard as my partner was back to work by then,
So worth talking to partner/friends/family to see who could help look after the baby if you need surgery,

I was glad when I'd had it done and it was sorted, the whole thing was a pain in the ass, just glad the NHS exists to sort out complications like these!

Michelle99923 · 01/02/2023 03:30

@SouthwestSis I will definitely need the surgery, I'm already on antibiotics and I'm told at every appointment to watch out for sepsis but for some reason the Drs are dragging it out even though the last consultant told me at last appointment due to the size of the product the odds of it coming out on its own are very slim and it has already calcified.
My partner is also back at work and can't take anymore time off as he had already used up paternity and holiday due to everything else that has happened to me. I don't have anyone else as my mum isn't local. I don't even know how I'll get to and from the hospital as km the driver.
This whole experience has been awful and I'm so down and fed up over it all.
