worried about my ultrasound

Hi everyone, around 11W I had my scan and the sonographer said, your bladders too empty and baby is wriggling too much, so couldn't measure, baby is okay though, come back next week, didn't really say anything I was only in the room around 5 minutes although she did give me 1 pic of the baby, the ultrasound looked perfect. I then came back a few days ago for another scan, bladder was too full so had to empty it & baby was sitting in a position where they just couldn't measure it, sonographer was really sweet and was trying her absolute best to get good pics and to measure baby but it was impossible, she had offered me a transvaginal ultrasound and told me if I got one then it would mean I wouldn't have to come back again next week as she would be able to get a clearer image and measurements, so I 100% agreed, it didn't make any difference at all and I'm scheduled to come back next week AGAIN! I tried wriggling my body and everything at that ultrasound but baby wouldn't move! The sonographer kept my pics with my green book and gave me again 1 pic :( a pic that I can't even make out it's a baby! Should I be worried? Can't believe I'm going on to my 3rd ultrasound at 12W, another thing I noticed on the 2 pics that I have is baby is sitting over to the left and not bang in the middle like most ultrasounds I seen, I just feel very worried and scared something isn't right...

Also sonographer said baby could be in the exact same position next week, so any tips to move baby before scan?

That sounds really unlucky, but not something to worry about.
I think the full bladder thing must be very variable between women. I often get told to fully empty mine because they can't see properly because it's too full. They seem to find it easier with me when it's empty. But obviously with some people it's easier when full, or half-full or whatever.
Given there must be differences between women which affect how full the bladder needs to be, it stands to reason there might be other differences too. I have heard that it can be more difficult with very overweight women, for example, but lots of overweight women have no trouble either. Very variable!
I don't know any tips for getting the baby to stay still unfortunately. I guess you just have to persevere with the appointments. Hope you don't live too far from the hospital!

Hello, firstly congratulations! 🙂

Every scan i have had baby has not cooperated and done her own thing ha!
I had to go three times to my 12 week scan because baby wasn’t doing what needed; we went firstly at 11 weeks and it was too early for the NT measurement so had to return, second time baby wouldn’t move at all despite jumping walking sweets etc so we returned for a third time, even then at 13 weeks the sonographer couldn’t measure all the way to her bum because she was pushed right up against my uterus and we couldn’t get the NT measurement.. i just have an awkward baby 😂

She has continued this awkwardness, im 28 weeks and having growth scans and i still haven’t had a straight forward scan because of her positioning.

Try not to worry too much, even though that is easier said than done x

I had the same at my 12 week scan, the baby moved so much that she just couldn’t get an accurate measurement! I’m going back next week to try again at 15 weeks, I’d try not to worry, the sonographer said this happens multiple times a week!
