I got my BFP on 9dpo, and am now 13 dpo.
i haven’t given birth in the UK before.. my DD was conceived and born when we lived abroad.
At what point do I call a doctor? Or a midwife?
i have booked a scan for 6 weeks as a reassurance scan since we’ve also had two losses in the past.

Hi, congratulations! The policy may be different where you live, but where I am (south east), you self refer. I just googled midwife/pregnancy refer and the area which I live and it came up with a referral form. Good luck ❤️

I self referred too and have a booking in appointment at 7 weeks but there should hopefully be information on your GP's website. Good luck!

Self refer here (south london). Find the hospital you want and the there is a form to fill in and then it gets the ball rolling! Congratulations :)

Where I am you ring the midwives and self refer. You should be able to find info online

Laul89 · 25/01/2023 17:25

Congratulations! 💕
I think I’m one of the only areas that doesn’t do self referral! I had to call the GP and the receptionist took some details and told me the midwife will be in touch for my first appointment which is between 8-10 weeks x

I also had to speak with the doctor to be referred to midwife.
I have to do the same if I need to see EPAU.

No matter where you live you can choose hospital. You probably can selfrefer online but I'm old school, just filled form in gp, picked hospital and shortly after received letter with my booking midwife appointment.
