Breastfeeding in Pregnancy - Does it get any easier?

I’m 12 weeks pregnant and my 2 year-.old still has a bedtime feeds most nights. It’s very uncomfortable for me now though. Is it likely to get any easier after the first trimester?

It got much easier for me after about 12 weeks and then harder again towards the end. I had some real moments of aversion where I felt like I couldn't stand it but they did pass. I'm not sure if I'm glad I persevered or not, I stopped feeding the toddler quite naturally and easily when baby was about 3 months and toddler 2.5. The only thing I'd say is if you aren't loving it then the closer to the end of your pregnancy the harder it is to stop because you (or I did at least) worry it will be too much for the older child to handle stopping breastfeeding and having a sibling in close succession, then you don't want to stop straight after baby comes or they'll resent the baby for stealing their boob!

I'm feeding my 2.5 year old once a day at night most nights, though sometimes she goes 48 hours without. 12-16 weeks was horrible for me. It has got a bit better these last few weeks, just as I was getting ready to wean her! But as my daughter tells me "there's no milk", so I expect dry nursing is half the aversion!

Apologies, that was such a badly written post. I was clearly knackered last night.

@OhBackToTheIsland thank you, that’s encouraging to hear that it did get better after 12 weeks. So far I feel like it’s just got worse and worse. I like the idea of tandem feeding though so am motivated to keep going if I can.

@thosethreewords thank you. How far along are you now? Amazingly we’ve managed to go as long as 18 days without a feed.
