Did the guidance on (raw fish) sushi change?

I’m absolutely convinced that in 2019 the guidance was that it was ok to eat raw fish sashimi etc, as EU regulations mean most fish would be frozen for 24h to kill any parasites. I remember regularly eating sashimi in that pregnancy.
However, it looks like NHS website advises against it now?! I can find one UK website which basically states what I recalled from before.
does anyone know if it changed or if I just imagined it was ok last time? I know the guidance on smoked salmon changed because of the listeria issue but was surprised about this one.

I asked my midwife at my booking in appointment about this and she told me sushi is fine if frozen first. Appointment was about 4 weeks ago.

Yes the advice seems to have changed. I dont know if it's linked to the smoked fish/listeria guidance. It did used to say sushi was fine if frozen first and now it says to eat it only if its cooked

It has changed. My gp friend told me it was due to the listeria outbreak. So sad - I'm really missing sushi!

Oh it makes sense that maybe it’s the listeria outbreak. I really fancy sashimi! Oh well. Thanks all.

I don't know the latest UK guidance or what was said before, but I wonder if its because sushimi is often linked to sushi and rice? Yes, I'm aware that sushimi is raw fish, but it is often used on sushi rice to make sushi. Cooked rice needs to be reheated until piping hot to ensure its safe- even for non pregnant people!

My cousin contracted listeria from an unknown source. She spent 2 weeks in ITU, lost her 23 week baby and almost lost her own life. I know its rare, but I personally wouldn't risk it.
