Ultrasound 7 weeks 4 days no embryo

Hi guys,

So I had my first ultrasound today and it didn’t go as well as I had hoped.
They did ultrasound first and saw the sac but bladder wasn’t full enough so did an internal.
They could then see 2 yolk sacs together joined almost one was a lot bigger than the other but no embryos or heartbeats.

They asked if I had my dates wrong but I don’t as I know when I ovulated etc. to the day. They said I looked about 6 weeks, I’ve to go back in 10 days to see. If the pregnancy does not progress how long would it be until I would know? Anyone any experience of this?

Hey guys so I had my scan today and unfortunately it wasn’t good news. There was still just the gestational sac and the yolk sac and nothing else so no progress from last week.
Still have to wait for another scan next Monday as 2 doctors have to confirm but I am coming to terms with it now.

@Anne19 Hi Anne, really sorry you are going through this, I had the same in December, found a blighted ovum at around 7 weeks and confirmed a week later. I opted for the surgical procedure as I wasn't miscarrying naturally and with medical management the process can be very drawn out if your body doesn't expel everything, which can then require the procedure anyway. At least with the D&C or vacuum you can get it over and done with and start looking ahead.

The only consolation really for me was that at least it was still very early in the pregnancy. Sending you lots of well wishes.

@Anne19 unfortunately my outcome was the same as yours. Waiting for a little bit to see if it passes otherwise with probably end up with medical management in a week or so. Wishing you best of luck for a future healthy pregnancy xx

@jalu47 really sorry to hear that you had the same outcome today and that you are going through the same experience. I have found it easier to deal with as the days have passed.
