So i tested very faint positive on 31st of December and now i am testing all negative but my urine is a little dehydrated... I haven't had a period since November 2022 and now i am worried i am not pregnant, i have no bleeding or cramping just bloated.... I was just wondering if anyone has experience this please

I had sex on 3rd of December and the 6th of December some people have lobe hgc levels so not everyone is going to have a strong positive, in my case i most likely ovulated lately or possible missed miscarriage which i have to wait until the 12 weeks scan as i dont have any symptoms and i cant afford private atm... My first positive was on the 31st December 2022

Hmmm yea so you should be 6+ weeks and I'd imagine you'd be getting stronger positives by now.
Is there an early pregnancy unit you can go to?

Nisathemummy · 17/01/2023 16:41

I meant no symptoms as in cramping, bleeding

They said to me that not all people have strong positives it could be because my hcg is low... They said all i can do is wait for any "signs" and call 111 as i am soo early the scan probably wont show the fetus hense why i have to wait for 12 week scan unless i want to pay private which i cannot afford... I dunno but thats what ive been told wish i could pay private tbh

I'm not sure why they would say nothing would be seen on scans at this point 🤔 you should be around 8 weeks by now, I had my first scan around 5 weeks and could see sac etc and then another a week later that showed the heartbeat
I would request at a minimum two blood tests 48hrs apart to see if hcg is doubling, two vvfl tests separated by a handful of negative tests is something that warrants looking into

If your 6+ weeks it would show on a scan

saltofcelery · 17/01/2023 16:54

That's very strange, however I can't see a line on either of your tests?

If you don't want to be pregnant as you say, why don't you book for a TOP - they scan you then. If there is a pregnancy there, they'll be able to see something by this point.

It could be that you're using dodgy tests, but by this point you should get a strong positive.

To those saying it could be the hook effect, I had a few scares during all three pregnancies and kept testing to reassure myself - i was still getting strong positives up until 12-14 weeks when I stopped testing.

keepaweatheredeye · 17/01/2023 16:57

Your local hospital will have an early pregnancy unit and your GP can refer you to that - they will scan after 6 weeks and the scans are free. Just do that:

flowers1988 · 17/01/2023 16:58

You'll be able to something on a scan. I seen heartbeat just before 6 weeks before. I work for 111 and we can't refer to any early pregnancy clinics etc would have to be a clinician or your gp. I'd call you gp back and say that you want a scan. Between the 31st and today you should of had a decent line come up on a test x

Lindtcat · 17/01/2023 16:59

Try go to your nearest epu. This doesn't sound right at all to me. I had a scan at 8 weeks and if definitely showed. Very strange your tests aren't darker by now either. Get checked out as soon as possible OP

Whataretheodds · 17/01/2023 17:04

Try to contact your local Early Pregnancy Unit directly.

ratherbthedevil · 17/01/2023 17:06

The test you posted looked faulty or the dye was still running. If you have had only negative tests since then I might be inclined to thing that test from the 31st was faulty.

Nisathemummy · 17/01/2023 17:13

Im going to try and book the doctors appointment as today they were fully booked at 8 am....The dye was still running in the test when i posted it, but yes i don't think it sounds right i tried cheap test asda like a couple of weeks ago no line appeared, its hard to see in the pictures but the line is visible but very faint...

@Nisathemummy yep you’re right the GPs don’t know much but they can refer you to EPU for a scan or do HCG bloods 48 hours apart to check the levels.

I’m in agreement with the other posters that they will definitely be able to see on a scan by now considering you last had sex on the 6th December as ovulation would have likely been max 5 days after that if you’re pregnant which would put you at least 7 weeks. There may not be loads to see but there will be something there to confirm you’re pregnant or if it’s a missed miscarriage etc.

I’m sorry you’re going through a confusing time as I can see a line on those tests I would be confused too.

allgoodthings84 · 17/01/2023 18:28

and I can see a line on those tests that meant to say

Nisathemummy · 18/01/2023 10:10

I have just come from the doctors they did a pregnancy test and it confirms i am indeed pregnant, as for the blood test they don't offer it at my doctors as i have no previous records of miscarriages or eptopic and high risk pregnancy, they are not booking me in for a scan as i am not cramping or bleeding, but they did say i can book private which i can't afford as for the hcg levels every woman is different so it doesn't matter how faint the pregnancy test is or how many weeks pregnant u are i am still pregnant according to them... Some woman have low hcg levels that doesn't mean its a concern thats what they stated

If you are indeed 9 weeks you need to refer to a maternity service to have your booking appointment. Or did your GP refer you ?

Nisathemummy · 18/01/2023 12:21

I am not 9 weeks i am 7 weeks and a bit according to the doctors, they have already referred me

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 18/01/2023 13:46

If you last period was 19th November then you would be 9 weeks on Saturday until they do a scan they would know no different. I’m not sure why they are telling you 7 weeks without a scan. My last period was 17th November and I’m 9 weeks tomorrow but I know it will be slightly adjusted at my scan but until then it’s 9 weeks by midwives and nhs

Nisathemummy · 18/01/2023 15:12

Because i know the date i conceived and i was on the pill so they said approximately 7 weeks and 6 days

OP posts:
Nisathemummy · 18/01/2023 15:18

In other words like i mentioned before i didn't have sex until the 3rd and 6th of December 2022... I had bleeding when i was on the pill so they just stated they will go according to when i had sex last unprotected as i know
