Hey!
I'm pregnant with my first child, due in May, and I'm a nurse working 12hr shift on my feet all day... Just wondering if there is anyone else out there in a similar situation and how you are feeling? When are you thinking of going on maternity leave? I was going to try and work up near to the due date but I'm already feeling quite achey and sometimes the job can be quite stressful and intense! I'm now considering going a bit earlier.. maybe around 33wks. It would be great to hear from others going through similar things.. xxx

Our trust we still have to finish at 28 weeks, I asked to work longer but was told the policy is clear and not flexible for pregnant workers. I’m 25 weeks and feel like I could carry on quite a bit longer but I’m equally happy with medical suspension from 28 weeks

Hi @Nuggsmuv
Completely resonate with how you feel. I recently returned to the ward after working in the community and I’m struggling emotionally and physically tbh.
I have been toying with going early too, but would rather have the time with baby than he waiting on baby - but I am tired and the long days and nights are wiping me out!
i’m going to ask for a move to outpatients and see if I’ll be accommodated - mind you I’m still chasing up a risk assessment 🤦🏾‍♀️

This is my 2nd baby, I'm a nurse working in a&e and I've just taken early maternity at 32 weeks! It was becoming very difficult, unpredictable patients, heavy work and no breaks. I just did what I felt was right xx
