did you have boys/girls, both?
my husband is is the eldest of four (3 boys & then a girl)
we have one son & I am pregnant with DC2😍
I just want to know if your husband/partner has more brothers/sisters did your children ‘follow suit’? I feel we’ll have another boy & we’ll be happy to but a girl would be lovely.. just feels impossible which is weird…

DHs parents
B, G

DH with exw
B, G

DH with me
B, G

Dyra · 09/01/2023 22:27

DH is eldest of two boys (his mum is youngest of two girls, dad is youngest of girl, boy, boy). We have one of each. Girl then boy. I'd love for one more, but DH wants to stop at 2.

I'm eldest of 5. Girl, Girl, Boy, Boy, Girl. Dad is third of 4 boys, while Mum is eldest of girl, girl/boy twins, girl.

GoT1904 · 09/01/2023 23:33

My ex husband was one of two boys.
We then had 2 girls 🤣

2chocolateoranges · 09/01/2023 23:40

In-laws had BBGB
my parents BG

us BG

inlaws have GGGBGGBGGG grandchildren, the boys are well outnumbered.

Kladebs · 09/01/2023 23:54

Both my ex husbands were 1 of 3 boys.

I had 2 girls with ex1 & 2 boys with ex2.

BabyOnBoard90 · 10/01/2023 06:59

DH is eldest: BGBB

Our first: G, though so I was so convinced it was the other sex. DH is convinced we'll just have all girls as the way of the universe providing balance from previous gen lol

BabyB2023 · 10/01/2023 08:19

@BabyOnBoard90 maybe your husbands logic may work for me then🤣
it goes BBBG & DH is the eldest. The grandchildren so far then go GGBBG with a boy loss in there too🤍 so it’s fairly even but I just have this deep rooted feeling it’s a boy & im so desperate to know😆 3 weeks & counting x

My friends husband is one of three boys. They have 3 boys.
His brother has two boys and a girl
His other brother has two girls.

It's simply a game of chance

WhenDovesFly · 10/01/2023 08:25

My husband's parents had one boy and one girl. We have two DDs.

Our BIL (his sister's husband) was one of three boys, but they have two DDs too.

ChangingTheChannel · 10/01/2023 08:27

My partner has 3 brothers. We have a boy and a girl. His brothers all gave girls.

Twizbe · 10/01/2023 08:28

DH has a younger sister. I have an older brother.

We have an older boy and a younger girl.

losingit31 · 10/01/2023 08:29

My mum had 2 girls, so did my sister then so did I.

My dad is one of four but 2 different fathers between them all due to widowhood- but it was boy, girl, boy, boy. Mum has an older brother and sister but the brother has a different father. Since it's the father that determines the child's gender, probably none of this is relevant. DH is the eldest of 3 boys, 2 of whom have DC and they both had a girl (I don't have children with DH, my family tree is very complicated!!)

ApolloandDaphne · 10/01/2023 08:40

My DH is the youngest of girl, boy, boy

His DSis had girl, boy, boy

His DB had three boys.

We had three girls.

I really think it makes no difference.

AliasGrape · 10/01/2023 08:48

I was amusing myself typing out the various patterns in our family but then thought there’s really no point as it’s all kind of random.

In no branch of our family does your theory hold true OP though, sorry!

BabyB2023 · 10/01/2023 11:32

Well I’m really excited reading all of these because it confirms my ‘theory’ is 💩 & maybe my chances of having one of each are as good as anyone’s! Either way I believe you get what you’re supposed to have & I cannot wait to have another little one to love🥰💙💗

My husband has 4 older sisters. No brothers. We had a girl followed by a boy.

i83 · 10/01/2023 13:30

My DP is one of 4 boys!

His siblings have:

  1. Girl, Boy
  2. Boy, Girl
  3. We 24 weeks and haven’t found out
  4. Boy

I’m one of two girls. My sister has 2 boys and obviously we haven’t found out yet.

gfy · 10/01/2023 13:30

Husband is one of three boys.

We have a boy and a girl

Elllicam · 10/01/2023 13:32

My DH was one of 3 boys. I have 2 brothers. We had 4 boys and then a girl

WineCap · 10/01/2023 18:21

I think there is truth in the theory but it has been shown that a woman's womb can be more receptive to male or female sperm. So while a male may produce more male sperm for instance, it may be that the odds of producing either sex is balanced out by the woman. There are many factors to consider.

Salamander91 · 10/01/2023 18:38

My husband has 5 brothers and 2 sisters. We have 2 boys and 1 girl. Between his brothers there are 6 boys and 5 girls.

BumpyaDaisyevna · 10/01/2023 18:41

MIL and PIL had

Boy, Boy, Boy, Boy

And then each Boy had

  • girl, boy
  • boy, boy
  • girl, boy
  • girl, girl
firsttimelondonmummy · 10/01/2023 23:46

DP’s Mum- Boy, Boy, Girl Boy
My Mum- Girl, Girl

We have a boy on the way.
He’s the first in 3 generations on my mums side.
I have 7 cousins who are all girls and they’ve all had girls (5).

Shows you what the DP’s genes can do.
Environment factors of course play a part also.

Ouchmehip · 10/01/2023 23:52
