Is this reduced movements?

Baby has been moving through the day, just in the evenings usually has a crazy period where my whole stomach is shifting visibly from outside and it's almost painful and not tonight, very chilled, felt a couple of soft movements but no crazy time!

Is that reduced movements? It's hard as he has been moving so I'm not sure.

It's a change to the normal motions you experience so a call to your midwife/hospital is necessary.

Yes it is. Reduced movements can be a change in pattern.
It could be that baby is chilled as has been active all day but also if a baby is unwell, the first thing they will do is stop moving as much to conserve energy (same as we do if poorly). You can’t distinguish alone which situation it is so definitely worth being monitored.

I don't think it's necessarily even a reduction in movements, just a change in movements that should be checked. And if this is a noticeable change in movements for you then you should contact the maternity unit. The chances are that baby is just having a quiet evening but they'd rather see you and check.

Yes

It is a noticeable change in his usual pattern of movements so yes I would definitely contact them.

Most people I know when to hospital to be checked for reduced movement concerns at some point in their pregnancies. I went once each for my two babies, at about 36 and 38 weeks respectively. The midwives are very nice and understanding and never make you feel silly for coming in, so don't feel anxious about phoning up. It's much better to be safe than sorry with something like this.

I've sat and drank two ice and waters which usually get him thumping around and still only a couple of gentle brushes. I keep putting of calling because I want him to start so I can go to sleep rather than hospital and it's just getting later!

It’s any change to your normal pattern. Please ring them and see what they say.

Please call, OP.

I called with mine when they were still moving, but with significantly less strength than normal. I went in expecting a pat on the head and being sent home feeling silly, but ended up being monitored for 3 hours and going for a follow up scan. All was well, and in hindsight it was a useful trial run for getting to the hospital.

Take a power pack, a bottle of water, something to pass the time and your medical notes.

It sounds like you would benefit from being checked and you will sleep soooo much better with some peace of mind @doingitalllagain 🥰

I remember being the same with reduced movements when it came to this time of night but you have to forget that and look after you and the little one x

All ok @doingitalllagain? x
