Double buggy recommendations

Hi all - we're expecting out second in February, when our first will be almost 22 months. I live in quite a hilly bit of London and do a lot of walking locally so I think a buggy board isn't going to cut it and we're going to need to get a double. The only one that seems to fulfil everything on my wishlist is the Bugaboo donkey, but I know a lot of people don't get on with them so am reluctant to shell out £££ (even on a refurbished one) without knowing whether it's worth it. Does anyone have any comments? My other choices are the Out N About Nipper Double and the Mountain Buggy Duet (I want a side by side rather than stacked).

Thanks!

City mini. Mine has been great.

There's 13 months between my 2 and the out n about double nipper is great. Only thing I would say is it doesn't have much storage underneath but other than that it works perfectly for me.

Without question the Out n About double nipper. I've now also got the single as im such a convert. I can push across grass with one hand it's so easy to use. Also fits in the back of my fiesta as wheels come off so easily

The donkey was a massive no from me as I took my then 23 month old and he barely fit in the seat and was very uncomfortable.

I found the mountain buggy heavy and cumbersome

If you are anywhere near the south east London I'd go to the a3 baby barn who have all of them to test and you can then see the difference. Also there is a Facebook group for out n about where they often get sold second hand

@Orangesare thanks, I haven't looked fully at this one. One question, if you don't mind - how do you find it in woodland / not on pavements?

Another Baby jogger city mini fan. We live in a village, its fine in parks and trails etc.

It has a decent basket and easy to fold.

I ended up with 3 doubles when mine were small and the most used was definitely the out n about, so nice to push!

I had 2 front-to-back Graco's (one was stolen). They were excellent. Light, easy to move/brake/fold and you could fit through the narrowest gap & fit easily on a bus. I'm so glad I never had a side-by-side one.

I live very rurally and it’s great. The GT is supposed to be better, I’ve only got a normal one as I was buying on Facebook and didn’t think I’d be using it for long. How wrong could I be.
If it’s a firm path or just hard ground it’s fine even with the weight it now has to carry, with lighter children it did everything my stroller did. I’ve been in the forest, disused railway lines, off road footpaths dry fields. I now throw the eldest out over rough ground or steep hills. Eldest has SN and is 18 kg and 5 years and youngest is 14kg and 2 years.

Uppa baby vista.

I got mine second hand (also a Londoner with a 24 month age gap)

I love that it's sturdy and that neither child is at exhaust terrible exhaust level.

The basket is huge and useable in the double configuration. I had eldest in parent facing top seat so he could interact with me and wasn't stuck in a very uncomfortable position.

Can change back to a single very quickly. Ideal for nursery run as could leave just the seat there and go off with youngest in the pram.

When youngest was ready for the seat, eldest was ready for the buggy board.

Still use it now for just youngest without buggy board.

Wish I'd got it first time round.

I also had a 22 month gap and lived in a hilly bit of South London (SE19).

Mountain Buggy Duet was brilliant for us. Fits through single doors and on buses easily.

I had an Out ‘n’ About Nipper double for mine (4 under 4) and used for years with no issues. It was great worked on all surfaces, easy to manoeuvre with my dogs. Fitted through single doors, carried a lot of stuff despite the small baskets. Walked miles with it, beach, hills, trails, we live rurally so it had a hard life and lasted. Travelled well too. My only minor irritation was it was big and not easy to transport in small/medium cars.

I've got the donkey (originally bought as a single) and the city mini GT. I love my donkey but it's a total pain collapsing the chassis and taking seats off needs a big boot. But it's lovely to push. I like the city it's folds much flatter but it's heavy when folded
