NCT or Twins Trust courses?

Hi all

I'm currently pregnant with twins - first pregnancy. I've had a few people recommend NCT courses but someone else is suggesting Twins Trust. The downside is Twins Trust are remote only for our location and I'm not sure how much of a difference attending in person makes.

Has anyone got experience with either of these please? Thanks

I found the twins trust one fairly unhelpful but that could be because twins were the second time around for me.

We did NCT for our first child and it was great and we’ve made some lovely friends locally with the same age children which was essential at the time. The only thing might be that everything and everyone will be geared to single babies. I’d have been resentful as hell if they were complaining when I had two to deal with!

And join your local multiples group - they’re a godsend. Maybe ask on there if people have found the twins trust courses useful?

Congrats on your pregnancy. My twins are now 3!

Thanks Hermione! I've had some totally split advice on it. My local twins group is bookmarked - good shout, thank you.

I have heard of a few people doing both, NCT for local friends and general info and then twins trust for the more specific twins information.

I was weighing up the same question the other day, twins trust only seems to do in person courses in London and I'm in the North.
I can't find any twin groups near me but I've seen on the hospital website (big maternity hospital) that they recommend twin antenatal classes so I'm going to ask about that at my next appointment. Hoping it means there's local ones I just haven't found yet.
Maybe worth asking your hospital?

I’d say do both of you can afford it

Have you looked at bump & baby? They use actual midwives to run the courses and came highly recommended to me. A lot of people advised me against NCT (too traditional).

Thanks all. We've booked Twins Trust but will look at Bump & Baby as well! I've also booked with the hospital for their courses so feeling a bit more covered for knowing what the hell to do...

To be honest NCT is more for the mates @firsttimelondonmummy

But that’ll already be complicated by the twins bit when everyone else will likely be having singletons

Although don’t think it’s overly traditional anymore. There was a bit of this but they didn’t obsessively push breastfeeding or out law epidurals like some say they do

@HermioneKipper my friend said the opposite and that she actually learnt a lot.
On other threads about classes too I’ve seen B&B recommended significantly more than NCT.
Guess it’s personal preference.
