Morning sickness and gender

Posting for light hearted fun. If you had morning sickness or nausea did you have a boy or girl? Did you have the same during each pregnancy or was it specific to the genders you carried?
I had severe nausea with my girls but I wasn’t physically sick. I am pregnant again after a large age gap and having the same thing, severe nausea but not yet been sick. I craved sugar throughout both of my previous pregnancies but with this one I can only eat salty food. DH and I having fun guessing what we may have!

I had HG was sick from 6-16 weeks and had a boy!

Dinosaurpoopy · 28/12/2022 17:21

HG with baby 1- boy

Nothing at all with baby 2- boy

So in my experience it means nothing!

AnnieApple123 · 28/12/2022 17:26

Kate had HG with all three of her pregnancies and had a boy, then a girl, then another boy.

I had absolutely no nausea and had a boy.

I agree with the PP right above. Means nothing. Sorry!

Cuppasoupmonster · 28/12/2022 17:30

Bad morning sickness with DD from 7-24 weeks. Maybe sick twice a day, bad food aversions.

Currently 25 weeks with a boy and had full blown HG - couldn’t keep anything down, meds etc until 24 weeks.

I started a similar thread when I didn’t know the gender (oh, sorry, sex 🙄) thinking it had to be another girl but I was wrong!

Exactly the same for me

No nausea with either and had a boy, then a girl. I didn't have any different symptoms really, apart from more back and hip pain second time round.

Aria20 · 28/12/2022 17:32

I had nausea but no sickness with both boys and craved pickled beetroot, raspberries and chocolate ice cream!

With daughter I was sick and felt sick all day every day and couldn't eat any meat or dairy without sickness until over 20 weeks. I basically survived on ice poles and plain boiled rice or pasta. Once I got over sickness stage I craved salt and vinegar Pringles and sweets - particularly fizzy sweets!

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 28/12/2022 17:34

I had HG all through my pregnancies with both my children, my entire pregnancies were pretty identical and I have a boy and girl.

Aria20 · 28/12/2022 17:35

Incidentally my dd who is now 5 loves salt n vinegar Pringles and sweets Grin she also had cows milk allergy and didn't like any meat until she was about 3 and preferred plain pasta/rice no sauces!!

Moomoo2o22 · 28/12/2022 17:35

I had nausea but no sickness in all four pregnancies 3 girls one boy! The only difference when I was pregnant with my son was that I went off chocolate until I got to 12 weeks.

Soubriquet · 28/12/2022 17:35

I had hypermesis with dd and was absolutely sick as a dog right up to about 4 months.

No sickness with ds at all

Libmama · 28/12/2022 17:37

I had two boys then a girl. No morning sickness with any of them. I will say though I definitely craved salty crisps more with the boys and sweets more with the girl! I’m surprised she wasn’t made of haribo when she was born!

Namechangedforspooky · 28/12/2022 17:37

2 girls here. Craved sugar with one and chilli / salt with the other. No morning sickness whatsoever although didn’t feel like eating at all in one of my pregnancies.
I breezed through one pregnancy but the other was a nightmare from start to finish
Basically completely different with each girl!

Anotherbun81 · 28/12/2022 17:41

Lots of mixed responses! I guess it can only go one of two ways, but none the less it’s a bit of fun along the way (excluding the nausea of course!)

I had nausea and vomiting which got worse with each pregnancy. All three are boys.

TheFormidableMrsC · 28/12/2022 17:42

No sickness with either and I have one of each.

annlee3817 · 28/12/2022 17:43

DD1 no symptoms at all, felt absolutely fine other than tired. Had an aversion to chocolate for the first trimester and an aversion to pasta for the whole pregnancy. Awful hair, bad skin etc

DD2 awful nausea, most days I just wanted to cry, aversion to most foods, Great hair and great skin

Mommabear20 · 28/12/2022 17:50

Had 3 pregnancies (girl, boy, girl) and had nausea with all 3 and only occasionally vomiting with each, but both nausea and vomiting got worse with each pregnancy.

JosieB68 · 28/12/2022 17:53

I’ve had terrible nausea and vomiting resulting in 2 hospital admissions and I’m having a girl. As you say it’s 50/50 😂 but I have heard from friends sickness can be worse girls, how much truth is in that going by this thread I don’t know.

Anotherbun81 · 28/12/2022 17:56

Theory goes that higher hcg levels means a girl and the higher hormones are more likely to cause sickness. Supposedly there are scientific facts in that. I had a very strong positive at 7dpo which I’m assuming means high hcg levels. I’d be more inclined to assume the sickness and hormones are related to each woman’s specific body and how it handles the changes, as opposed to the baby themselves.

WeightoftheWorld · 28/12/2022 18:01

I had similarly bad levels of HG both times and have one of each.

Cotswoldmama · 28/12/2022 18:06

Really bad sickness with first, none with second both boys .

eatdrinkandbemerry · 28/12/2022 18:11

Sick 20+ times a day for the whole nine months with first baby .she was a girl.
Second no sickness at all and he was a boy.
Third no sickness at all and didn't even know I was pregnant until 6 1/2 months pregnant 🤷‍♀️. She was a girl .
So I'm absolutely no help whatsoever 🤣😂🤣

Cuppasoupmonster · 28/12/2022 18:21

Girls generally produce higher HCG so you’re more likely to have a girl with HG, although I think it’s something like a 55-45 split.

I always got strong positive tests very early, at 8 or 9dpo, first for my girl and now for my boy.

I think some women’s bodies struggle to get the hormones up, and others shoot up straight away.

sanabria · 28/12/2022 18:31

Sick all day everyday for full nine months. I had a boy.
