Pregnant right after miscarriage - confused!

Hi everyone,

So a bit of background - I found out I was pregnant mid September and by the end of October, unfortunately I was given tablets to help me miscarry a blighted ovum.

The experience was terrible - I had retained product and it took me until the end of November to miscarry everything and get negative pregnancy tests.

I started tracking right away and got a positive OPK on 10/12. Fast forward to yesterday and I started feeling a bit off, so I took some cheap strip tests from a corner shop. All 3x tests in the pack show really faint lines, so I got a different pack of pink dye tests from another shop and again, really faint lines (attached).

So I think I’m pregnant again? But based off a positive OPK on 10/12, shouldn’t I have stronger lines as it’s now 17 days later?

It’s all so confusing because I’ve not yet had a proper period since the miscarriage so I have no idea where I am in the cycle! But I presumed the initial positive OPK was a good sign!

Hi.
I was in exactly the same situation.
I simply took the positive, faint or otherwise as a positive.
After my blighted ovum and horrific retained products and all that went along with it, I had run out of steam a bit and was too tired and too traumatised to muster up any energy.
So I kind of went with it and retested a week or so later.
Good luck this time OP, I really can empathise and sympathise with your situation x

So sorry to hear you went through this. I had a MMC in late August and conceived again three weeks later with no period in between. I didn't have the faint test "problem" but went on to have an early scan where the baby measured almost a week behind.
Ovulation occurs any time within 48hrs after the lh surge and it can then take quite a while for fertilisation and implantation. It's so hard to know when exactly your pregnancy would have properly started. I'd wait a few more days and test again. Keeping all my fingers crossed for you for a healthy sticky bean!

Thank you so much for your lovely messages ladies. I will try and enjoy the next few days sober and then test again in the New Year.
I’ve taken an OPK today to satisfy my testing urge and it’s off the scale so I’m taking that as a good sign 😂
Lots of love to you both ❤️

I think it takes about 2 weeks for hcg levels to be detectable by a normal home pregnancy test so 17 days would still be very early in pregnancy-test terms. So even though the line is faint, I think you can be reassured you're pregnant. Congratulations! And sorry for all
you've been through. If you want extra reassurance you could take a digital test that just tells you yes/no. Takes the guess- work and overthinking out of it in the early days.

I had a miscarriage on December 9th last year. Positive pregnancy test Jan 14th and now I have my 3 month old here in my arms! Good luck!
