Threatened miscarriage 11 weeks pregnant - still bleeding!!

I had a threatened miscarriage 1 week ago - heavy bleeding and very large clots. I had a scan the following day and all was fine - baby was the right size with a strong heartbeat. They couldn’t find the reason for the bleed but they could still see a tiny amount of blood up there which was quite a way away from the baby. I’m still spotting 7 days on with a little bit of cramping. The spotting goes from red to brown and back to red again. Has anyone else had an experience like this? How long is the bleeding supposed to last?

Hi @Lbailey11, I hope you’re well! Do you mind me asking how heavy the bleeding you experienced was and if you had any bad cramping ? I’m waiting 3 days for a scan after bleeding terribly last night along with strong cramps and I can’t help but to expect the worst.

Hiya @TMK23 :) So I had severe bleeding - I sat on the toilet for 20 minutes with blood and clots falling out. I then had a few other further bleeds throughout the first trimester. I had a subchorionic hematoma which cleared itself up but it did lead to a short cervix and my placenta failing and I gave birth at 32 weeks. You must make sure you are treated as high risk and monitored closely so they can keep a close eye as bleeding can go on to loads of different issues further down the line!! I do write this whilst holding my beautiful daughter 💕 so it all ended well!!

@Lbailey11 that must have been such a scary time for you! But that’s so amazing to hear you have your little girl! Hopefully I’ll be able to say the same one day 🥰 Thank you for your reply xx
