Hi all. Im currently 31wks and have a very active baby in my belly. I'm slightly concerned though as , although I get the usual kicks and full on movement I've recently experienced baby movements that feel like the baby is shaking which is almost like a spasm feeling. Is this normal in pregnancy and has anyone else ever experienced such movements?

When I was expecting ds sometimes he would go into some mad frenzy of movement, felt like he was on a treadmil in there! Difficult to know if it's the same feeling as you're describing. Has everything else been going according to plan with you pregnancy? The feeling of the movements does change as pregnancy progresses and the baby gets bigger and the space available gets less.

Hi. I have had the same feeling. Its woken me up in the middle of the night and when I put my hand on my belly I can feel the shaking inside and out. Its given me no end of worry and I have been unable to sleep/relax. I do have a doppler and am relying on this to calm me as the babys' heartbeat has always been within normal range and strong. If this changed at any time I would be off the hospital quick smart.

I've been experiencing the same feeling lately (I'm 26 weeks pregnant), and I've spoken to both a gynecologist and my midwife. They both said they've never heard of it before (?). But also both said that if baby moves normally after that, it should be fine and nothing to worry about. If it had been a big deal, they would have known about it.
I also found another thread somehwhere else, where someone was suggesting that it could actually be you shaking: either your womb ('cause it's growing), or the muscles in your abdomen bacause of a bad possition of your spine at that moment. Which explains why it mostly happens at night.

It could also be the baby hiccuping. I figured that out when I was attached to a monitor and they pointed out the rhythmic movements on the monitor as I felt her shaking.
