6 weeks and awful sickness

Just as the title reads. 6 weeks pregnant and the nausea and vomiting is awful, I can't keep anything down. Phones doctors who can't get me an appointment. Phoned 111 early this morning who said a clinician would phone me in 30 mins. 5 hours later and still no call.

I have a toddler, I feel awful I can't keep up with him. I'm falling asleep every few minutes. When I'm not asleep my head is over the toilet. He keeps asking if mummy is better now.

Any tips or advice whilst I wait this call back?

Sounds awful, can you get someone to help entertain your toddler? If not stick them in their highchair with some snacks and put the cartoons on for them might keep them entertained for a while. The only thing that helps my morning sickness is eating could you try some crackers or something? Ginger biscuits is supposed to ease nausea. Hope you feel better soon x

Can you go to boots or a chemist and get some cyclizine? That's what the doctor gave me and when I ran out I realised you could get it over the counter. You will get some relief. If you get really bad go to a and e. They'll give you medicine and an anti sickness injection.

Can you try the GP again? Mine got me a same day appointment when I said I couldn't keep anything down and I was prescribed Cyclizine, it didn't work for me but have now been prescribed something else to try

Did you have the same when pregnant with your toddler? If you are falling asleep that is not good and you may be dehydrated. Try to keep down some fluids, easier said than done but a lot of women with HG find that ice cold water is easier to keep down than warmer water. You can get ketostix from the pharmacy to check whether you are dehydrated. You could probably also phone/turn up at an early pregnancy unit but it would be difficult if you have your toddler with you.
