Holiday while potentially pregnant

Myself and my partner have a holiday booked for June but are now considering trying for a baby from January. If all went well I would be 5 months or less by the time we go (I know it may not happen that quick). My partner seems to worry I won’t enjoy the holiday as much and I will miss out on doing things with him. We both really want to start trying, but now I’m questioning if I’ll ruin the holiday by being pregnant

Because I’d wager that this is a new relationship

I’ve known him a lot longer but we got together a year and a half ago

I’m 27 weeks at the moment and in Dubai and we’re pretty much doing exactly what we would if I wasn’t pregnant, minus the poolside cocktails for me! Husband is still drinking, probably less than he would if we both were, but neither of us are bothered by it. I’ve been told holidays with a baby (if they happen at all) will be quite different so making the most of it! Just get good insurance 😊

And to already be planning another baby when you already have one from a previous relationship, and you’re only 25!!!

Slow down OP

I’m 26 sorry I forget I’ve had another birthday since 😅 Yes I have a five nearly 6 year old from a previous relationship, I don’t see why that’s such an issue to be honest there are a lot of people who choose to be young mums. As I said I’ve known my partner for a number of years, I wasn’t questioning if we were ready for another I was asking people’s experiences of being pregnant and going on holiday.

I went to Greece this year at 24 weeks. I was very anxious in the led up for a mixture of reasons and also whilst out there hoping the food was properly prepared or incase anything happened with baby. But luckily I had no symptoms other than tiredness. It would be a different story if you have certain symptoms but that is the risk you take. I was particularly worried about the flights incase I developed sickness but of course you don’t know how you will be feeling at whatever stage because as we know symptoms come and go.

We didn’t do much other than relax. We went out for one day trip (half a day). I decided not to go for full days out incase I started to feel unwell or couldn’t cope in the heat. My boyfriend is quite active but didn’t mind not going out and about. He was being more strict about it all than I was because he was worried I would overdo it or feel unwell.

For me, the worries I felt in the led up and whilst out there would put me off going abroad again when pregnant.

You would both need to go with a mindset that it will be a different holiday to maybe what you are used to if you decide to go for it.
