33+2 weeks - hideously big and uncomfortable, what are the chances of baby coming early

The baby was already 4.5lb at 31 weeks, so turning out to be a BIG baby.

My stomach is really tight and the baby is big and I am SOOOOOO uncomfortable. Walking is a torture and sitting isn't much better.

What are the chances of the baby coming early?

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

I spent six weeks with DD1s head so far engaged that I walked like John Wayne. She was a measly 2 days early. I permanently had my fingers laced together under the bump to take the weight off. But despite a huge tight bump she was only 8lb6oz?!? Midwives had been expecting 9-10lb.

I quite liked kneeling on cushions and resting my elbows on a stool, although the bump was heavy it was still more comfortable having it 'hang' than holding it up. IYSWIM.

How is your breathing? I often needed to stand up as straight as possible and then stretch my chest up to get a full lungful of air.

My 2nd & 3rd pregnancies were slightly more comfortable although the last month for almost everyone involves shortness of breath and lack of sleep.

What does your midwife think?

Mines a whopper too and am pretty uncomfortable. I'm 38 weeks now and no signs of him coming early despite it being my 2nd pregnancy and DS1 being 2 weeks early

My sis in law was like you and gave birth at 33 weeks (5 pounds+ baby), which is a bit too early! What about your family history - did your mother give birth early? This is the best way to tell, IMHO.

Sympathies but no advice i'm afraid.

I had a big baby last time (10lb) so I understand your discomfort.

Have you been checked for pregnancy diabetes?

Might be worth reducing sugar/carbs intake anyway (this is what I've been advised this time, I still eat carbs just try not to go mad on them)
