Please can anyone recommend the best pregnancy pillow to stop me sleeping on my back that isn’t enormous! Thanks!

I’ve got a dream genie but tbh a normal pillow wedged down your back would be absolutely fine

MrsSamR · 24/11/2022 16:48

I got a dreamgenii cheap in TKMaxx (£24.99 I think) and still use it now 5 weeks postpartum as I find it so comfy!

PinkPlantCase · 24/11/2022 16:49

I bought the BBHug me, it didn’t take up the whole bed and was very comfortable.

I agree with PP though a few extra normal pillows would probably do the job.

ARoastPotato · 24/11/2022 16:51

I had a kally pregnancy pillow and loved it, still use it now!

Bbhugme was amazing!

greenerfingers · 25/11/2022 21:08

Bbhugme is massive in my opinion but also the best thing I ever bought. Second pregnancy and it's been an even bigger life saver than my first.

airwrapped · 25/11/2022 23:41

@MsPolly @greenerfingers how are you both using the bbhugme? I have one but it's so massive, I never seem to get it positioned right and so kick it out of bed!

Choc2022 · 26/11/2022 03:44

I got a non branded one from Amazon, a u shape 9foot one and its quite comfortable. I tried wedging extra pillows back and front but ended up throwing them middle of the night

SweetPeaPods · 26/11/2022 04:07

I got one from Asda and it's been fantastic.

Bizzyone · 26/11/2022 05:32

I got a £25 one from amazon which did a great job for second trimester, however now im 36wks and hufe I actually find a couple of normal pillows just wedged against my back loads better (and takes up less space) x

Another vote for BBhugme!

7 weeks PP here and still using it, I can't imagine sleeping without it now 😊

@airwrapped for my first pregnancy I sort of would use it as a c shape behind my head when sitting (I was on bedrest) and at night I would hug it on my side making it thin out in the bit that goes between the knees. I didn't really 'need' it that much as normal pillows would have done. I'd also sometimes lay it lengthways behind my back so I can't turn on to my back and wedge a piece from behind between my knees so it's spooning me.

This time however my spd and rib pain have been horrific and I'm also much much larger so I go between my back and side, on my back I use it curled up under my knees to keep them elevated for a couple hours and give my ribs relief. On my side I lay it in front of me and use the top part as an actual pillow on top of my current pillow rhen snake the rest in front of me and a bit between mt knees or sometimes I make a big c shape on top of my current pillow and use that as a large seat so I'm half sitting and sleep on my back. I've even travelled with it this pregnancy. When I use it for my head I sometimes get an extra sofa cushion/ hot water bottle for between my knees etc

@greenerfingers this is really useful, thank-you!! I think part of my issue was not having it "flat" enough on the spots where I needed it; last night I rearranged it for a back support so I couldn't roll over and then flatter between my knees and under bump, it was perfect
