Cholestatsis in subsequent pregnancies

Hello,

I was diagnosed with OC/ICP at 35 weeks in my first pregnancy. Ended in a horrible induction and emergency section.

Was told I am likely to have it again but am currently at 32 weeks and other than the odd
itchy/tingling I feel ok so far. If I was to develop it again I would want a scheduled c section but not averse to natural birth if all is well.

My question is how many people DIDN'T get cholestasis in subsequent pregnancies? I feel like i'm in limbo waiting for it to happen when it may well not?!

I had it with both previous pregnancies. Diagnosed at 37w with my first son and was induced at 38w. Had regular bloods with my second son, negative all the way through until the LAST bloods again at 37w. Refused induction but had a sweep at 38w and baby was born the next day. Currently pregnant again and am gearing myself up for getting it again. That's my dream of a home birth down the toilet

hi @Louiseem

my bloods came back at 24 at 38+2. Had a sweep but nothing happened so ended up having at elected c section at 39 weeks (Monday). Currently feeding my 2 day old baby boy!

They offered me an induction but I refused. Interestingly they did some bloods before I had the c section and the results came back as 9. Not sure how/why they dropped. Also the night before my elcs was probably the itchiest I’ve been throughout the pregnancy.!

how are you doing?
