Confused by dates

I've had three positive pregnancy tests today, hurrah! TTC since June this year. But I'm really confused about the timing and hoping for some advice.

I've been ovulating late the past three months. In September I didn't get 'peak' on the test until day 21 and then got my period five days later. In October I just had 'high' for ten days in a row (we DTD five of these) and never got a peak, then I went straight into my period (which was normal flow, bright red blood but only 3 days). This month, I had 'high' at the end of last week and 'peak' on Saturday (which was day 26, so late) and DTD Th, Fr, Sat, Sun.

On Wednesday this week (day 30) I was SURE my period was about to arrive - I had several bouts of cramping and feeling hot/woozy which have always been period symptoms for me. On Thursday night my breasts started feeling tender/tingling. Woke up this morning sure I was going to have got my period and I hadn't, so I tested - in not much hope as it seemed very early. On an 'early' test I got a strong line immediately. I then did a 'how many weeks?' which came back as 2-3 weeks. I think did another little strip test which was positive.

If I only ovulated around Saturday, how can I have a 2-3 week test less than a week later?

But if I'm actually further along and the 3-day October period was actually implantation bleeding, would I have got high/peak OPKs this week? And wouldn't I be 3 weeks+?

Anyone had a similar experience?

Wow that is confusing! Sounds like you ovulated much earlier than you expected.
I don't find OPKs particularly clear. In all the months I've tested with them, I've only ever got an actual peak on one cycle. The rest I just got highs (and the last cycle I tested I didn't even get a proper high yet I clearly ovulated as I conceived).
There's a chance the October bleed was implantation, in which case you would be quite far along now. This could cause the hook affect on your tests where your hcg is actually too high for them and gives a weaker reading than you would normally get although I'm not sure if the hook affect actually affects digitals. There's also the possibility you have high hcg cos of a multiple pregnancy.

Whatever the reason, it's clear you're pregnant, so congrats!

Thanks for the reply and the congrats! Do you mean hook effect on the ovulation tests, or on pregnancy tests? I haven't actually done a pregnancy test since August as I never had a window with enough time between ovulation and my period. Wish I had now!

The hook affect just goes for pregnancy tests as far as I know.
I have also read of women that have gotten a peak opk as an early pregnancy sign (as in they take those tests in place of a pregnancy test). But I've also read that you can get another lh surge as your period is about to start 🤷 it's all very confusing and your situation is a real head scratcher. Have you considered getting a private scan to see if they can tell you how far along you are? Then you might be able to work out which opk was actually ovulation 😂

Yes, thinking now maybe my October period was real and I ovulated earlier than I thought, so the 2-3 weeks might actually be accurate and the latest OPK was because of pregnancy not ovulation. I will look into the private scans - I'm terrible at waiting!
