Moving to a flat (pregnant)

I am currently pregnant, and have medical needs/disabilities. I need to move in with boyfriend but have delayed to keep same GP as in different authority area as If I change now I'd not have same support and autistic so want to be settled. We have been long distance!

My partner lives on a top floor and I can't get up the stairs but have previously had falls down stairs because legs go randomly due to one of conditions, this was issue prior to pregnancy because of conditions I have and he tried to get ground floor but the prices have shot up and so been stuck there. We have put our names down for all housing council and they don't seem to move forward with it, tried looking into mid market, rent, house but due to current situation and him being only one in full time employment it's been difficult.
I'm now worried as my GP had even written supportive letter that I need specific type of housing because of medical needs
Housing not interested..

I guess I need to accept being in a top floor but I am worried about getting up and down becuase of pain, has anyone here lived in flat with baby and brought child up and what do you do to manage?

also if a 1st floor or ground floor came up which is better to be in?

I have lived in a first floor flat with my first child. The lift broke down sometimes and yes it was a bit of a hassle but manageable. Then I do not have a disability so can’t really say if it’s manageable for you.

Personally, if you are renting in the short term. I think anything on the ground floor would be better so you don’t get trapped in your flat during the day until DH comes home. A ground floor 1 bed would be my preference and that gives you time to figure it out.

Yes, there was a lift where I lived when mine were little but it was often broken. Small buggy and sling are helpful. I live in London so far more of my friends with kids live in flats than houses. However if you have a disability that means you can't use stairs that's really difficult. Can't you stay where you are?
