Hi,

I have a private scan booked for this evening, I'm 9 weeks today. Had a 6 week MC in Nov and some spotting last week so decided to get a scan to hopefully put my mind at rest. Am I likely to see a heartbeat? Or should I postpone for a few days?

Have to make a decision this morning! Thanks!

hi meglet - I think that it is usually about 7 weeks when you can see a heartbeat.
Fingers crossed for you xx

you should get one by 6 weeks in my experience. Good luck.

You should see a hb from about 7 weeks (or at least I did when I had one to check after bleeding) - good luckxxxx

thanks for replying so fast! I was guessing that it should show a heartbeat so I think I'll go for it.

Yes, you should see a heartbeat (and little arm and leg buddy things). I had a private scan at just over 8 weeks this time and was surprised at how much you could see (last time had scan at six and a half weeks and could see tiny smear with tiny flickering heartbeat).

how did ur scan go meg

hi!

I saw a heartbeat! And it was 9 weeks as it should be. I am a lot more relaxed now. Really glad I splashed out and did it.

Baby was just a splodge, but looked wonderful! I had actually filled my bladder up too much and had to go and pee so the doc could get a good result .

Meglet, I am so pleased for you, glad you can relax a bit now an hopefully enjoy a trouble free pregnancy.
I remember how nervous I was before my first scan and I had no history or reason to worry!
