Anterior Placenta - movement question

I had a scan yesterday at 14 weeks and the woman doing the scan told me that I have an anterior placenta and she thinks it would take a bit longer to feel baby move.

For those with or who have had anterior placenta - does think mean I’ll feel baby less often than I usually would? Or just later on in pregnancy rather than a bit earlier

Later on. I had AP. Didn't start feeling flutters until about 17 weeks. Felt proper movements from about 22 weeks.

I have an anterior placenta and felt the faintest flutter between 15-16 weeks but not actual kick until just after 20 weeks. Once I started to feel her move though I don't think it was less often, am now 28 weeks and she's kicking properly all the time!

I have an anterior placenta and didn’t feel definite baby movements until 25 weeks. Between 25 and 28 weeks I felt quite a lot of movement and my boyfriend could feel from the outside, but I also had some really quiet days too. I’m now 28 weeks and feeling lots of movement everyday. I was told once you reach 28 weeks baby is bigger than the placenta and so you’ll feel more movement then xx

I have an AP and didn’t feel anything until 22 weeks. My husband was able to feel him pretty soon after that so I think I missed the ‘flutter’ stage and went straight in for kicks! I’m 26 weeks now and still have quieter days. I actually went in for reduced movement yesterday and was hooked up to the machine - half of the baby’s movements I couldn’t feel due to the placement of the placenta!

@MRSDoos I have an anterior placenta and felt subtle movements at 19/20 weeks, followed by unmistakable ones by 21 and now lots and lots since 24. I have noticed that baby can move / change positions and it all feels very quiet in there from time to time which can be worrying, but then she reappears and it's super obvious. You'll get there, but don't panic if it's not for a bit yet!

All my pregnancies I had AP. First I remember I was feeling movement by my 20 week scan. DC1 kicked a lot, I could see during the scan she was moving more than what I was feeling. 2nd was around 17 weeks, 3rd I felt from really early on. I did notice with DC1 especially that I didn't feel movements regularly till about 26 weeks.

It depends where at the front the placenta is and the position of the baby. I felt nothing until about 23 weeks then from 25 weeks he was very much making his presence known. My placenta was quite high up and he was low down.

My friend's placenta pretty much covered her baby entirely so she barely felt anything through the whole pregnancy. Both her and baby were absolutely fine but it did cause her anxiety so she did get monitored a lot.
