Medication for morning sickness

I'm only 3+5 and already getting waves of nausea. With my first I had constant 24/7 nausea from 6 weeks until 16 weeks. It was horrendous and I ended up getting medication from the doctor.

I've read that getting medication before things get too bad can really make all the difference. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it worth speaking with my gp to see if they'll prescribe me something?

Maybe get a phone appointment and talk through with the gp? They might give you a prescription that you can get in just in case? Hopefully the same tablets would work for you a second time. I wish I had called about a week earlier instead of struggling on and using up my reserves. I was also struggling to keep down the fluids I needed to take the tablets by that point. If you've got another one to look after this time you'll need your energy. You don't get a medal for getting through without medication

Yes yes yes! I've had hg with my previous pregnancies and this time started withbcyxla3x a day from almost as soon as I got a bfp. Its so much more controlled. I have added a 2nd one of ondansetron in this last week or so when I found cyclazine wasn't working 100% anymore..

You might to try Sea-Band Anti-Nausea Acupressure Wristband for Motion & Morning Sickness. You can get them at any pharmacy. Helped me through the 9 months of pregnancy as well as being on acidity medication too. Hope you feel much better.

I was speaking to my gp this morning about something unrelated and decided to ask about the morning sickness medication.

She said it's not procedure to prescribe medication that isn't needed and that I should keep medication to an absolute minimum and only take something if it's absolutely necessary.

I tried to explain that I've read that it's important to start the medication as soon as possible to help control the morning sickness and that I thought it would be good to have it on hand if I end up needing it but it fell on deaf ears.

It's looking like I'll have to fight for it when I do need it.

Try ringing pregnancy sickness support. They're a great charity and will be advocates for you if needed.

Ask to speak to another go. Don't let them fob you off. I can't explain how much better I am in this pregnancy than with ANY of my others, and this is #6 for me
