Evening! This is probably a stupid post however I cooked my dog a steak this evening pulled it out the oven to allow it to cook down and my pesky cat came and dragged it across the counter (I didn’t realise.) anyway I ended up eating a cookie off of the worktop and then suddenly realised they had left the juices all over my unit that I just ate off🫣 the steak was medium rare… is there anything to be worried about? Mum world is new to me!
if this is a ridiculous post feel free to laugh haha

You’ll be absolutely fine!

I’m very very paranoid about things like this and I can tell you from extensive research that the chances of getting toxoplasmosis for the first time during pregnancy are very small so I wouldn’t stress yourself.
I’ve been getting anxious about anything and everything and realised it’s not helping anything.
It’s been so reassuring to speak to my mum who reminded me they ate pate and soft cheese and rare meat and we came out just fine.
I won’t be doing that but it stopped me feeling as anxious about things 💖

Honestly so am I!! that’s so reassuring to hear!! I was freaked out by what I could and couldn’t eat to begin with!! Like I thought I wasn’t allowed pizza anymore some people think I’m mental but it’s just general anxiety!

You be fine

@Casketcurios I’m exactly the same.
A couple weeks ago I cried because I always have a bag of low fat crisps with my sandwich at lunch and one study said crisps cause birth defects.
Like someone said to me, if you google hard enough you’ll find someone that claims water is bad for you.
I’ve felt so much better since I stopped googling and just followed the NHS website.
I get the anxiety doesn’t go away but stopping googling helps it from getting way worse.
Mine spiralled when I was googling everything I ate and did 🤦🏻‍♀️

Casketcurios · 05/11/2022 22:00

I also read that!! I was eating like three packets a day and I was like oh no… Googling has made me literally only eat the same things due to worrying about going outside them… I’ve asked advice for snacks off of people but for some reason people are secretive with snack ideas etc or judge massively like if I could stop worrying I totally would!

Motherhood is going to be a slog unless you get your anxiety under control. Honestly, it's no fun to be worrying all the time about tiny stuff like this.

Step away from Google , use nhs guideline, it’s why they are there to prevent panic from the world that is Google.
All the snacks you would normally have had will be fine as long as they don’t appear on the foods to avoid on the nhs list, crisps are also fine.
