3 years ago My filling fell out, I never went back to the dentist because I always needed the money for more important things, like bills, food etc I recently found out that I am entitled to free dental care if I'm pregnant, I've never used NHS dental care I always went to my local dentist, so not sure how to access it can someone tell me please I don't know anything about this kind of stuff, my tooth really hurts and the gum is starting to swell

You have to register with an NHS dentist as a new patient, unless your current dentist will take you on as NHS.

Good luck trying to find an NHS dentist though ! Years long waiting lists here Sad

You need to find a dentist that will take you on as an NHS patient.

as pp said you need to register with an NHS dentist, you should be able to find your nearest one doing an online search. Depending on where you live you might struggle though.

Good luck with that, there's been no nhs availability for years where I am.

You need to register first.... we are currently on a waiting list which I was told was 2 years.
They did however say in an emergency I can go in. So maybe try and get on a list.

You may be able to get an emergency appt with a dentist via 111 111.nhs.uk/triage/check-your-dental-symptoms

You have free treatment for a year after your baby’s born as well.
