Heartbroken after Infertility clinic recommndations

Hi.

We started ttc around March. In May I became pregnant, but it was a blighted ovum so I had medication to miscarry around 8 weeks. In the beginning of October I had a chemical and on 24 October I had again positive pregnancy tests.

The hcg and progesterone are low and slowly rising. What I'm thinking is the medication from the first pregnancy affected the levels of progesteron and that's why I had problems now.

However, the GP was trying to tell be to go to an infertility clinic. And to be honest, I feel she did nothing to explore what the problem could be.

I feel heart broken and hopeless...

Could you please tell me what you think?

Look at it this way, OP.

If you are being referred to an infertility clinic, the goal is to help you have a baby. Unless you see a gynaecologist who tells you that you've got no eggs left and should give up, the goal will still be to help you have a baby, by whatever means necessary.

I referred myself to a recurrent miscarriage specialist after four miscarriages. No, I didn't want to be in that position, but I saw it as taking a positive step to try and resolve my problem. I had a bunch of tests, one more chemical pregnancy, an endometrial scratch, and then a successful pregnancy. Less than a year after I first walked into that doctor's office, I was holding my baby in my arms. And now, 19 months later, I've got another one due very shortly.

These people are there to help you. See it as a positive thing.

Thanks again. I'm still waiting for some results and will go in a couple of weeks to a private consultation to another gynecologist with good reviews.

Why on earth would you go to a gynae rather than a fertility specialist? It’s not passing the buck as you think but referring g you to the appropriate specialty which is not them. You had the option of being referred to the correct specialist but instead you want to see someone else who does not specialise in this area? Baffling.

@HoppingPavlova as I said in a comment already, I'm not in the UK, and here things go differently. You get to the infertility clinic after you have done all usual tests. And I didn't. And it's also a financial aspect since it's usually quite expensive and you have to pay for everything.

Thank you for taking the time to write, but tbh the judgemental tone, I don't need. Especially if you don't have the whole picture. I know, I'm the one who posted, but I was looking for support, not someone to scold me.
