Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Am 39+ 4 today & getting more & more fed up and exhausted! Heartburn seems to be getting worse, which i didn't think possible and sleep getting harder and harder to come by!

Also, and this may be the tmi alert, i seem to have woken today with piles!! Well i think anyhoo. Can you use anything to stop the soreness? I was waddling like a duck before, now i can barely sit and am in agony on one side of my bum i don't know what to do with myself!!

Any advise much appreciated and may even stop me crying!!

There is cream you can get which really helped me after giving birth. Ask your pharmacist or dr which one they recommend for use in pregnancy.

Oh poor you. Its the pressure, and gets worse during labour (I'll save you the details of mine ). You can buy creams and suppositories from any chemist, or your GP/MW will give them to you for nothing.

Not nice, but all par for the course.

Anusol, widely available. Apply frequently.

Mw told me to use Anusol, so I assume so. That was last time I was pg though (21 months ago) - don't know if guidelines have changed.

Mine got far worse after labour (sorry if TMI) - shockingly large - and the mw encouraged me to slap loads on each time I went to the loo. Took about 4 weeks to clear up.

I had them really bad with my 1st pregnancy and I think I had some allergic reaction to anusol so it made me so itchy I hardly slept for itching - and not the nicest place to be itching all night!!

BUT - I was dreading what they'd be like after the birth and they were so much better. Got them with 2nd pregnancy but not too bad and had them once since. Hoping against hope that I don't get them again

Anusol is rubbish, once you have the baby ask for Protosedyl suppositories and cream - it has lignacaine in so numbs the area and clears them up in five days.

BTW your arse is just preparing you for the discomforts and indignities to come

Can I suggest moist toilet tissue instead of babywipes? Baby wipes aren't flushable, are they?

Oh its a horrid, horrid side of pg!

Thanks girlies!!

Have been slapping on the anusol all day, not a great relief but slightly better than untreated i guess!

My daily walk really wasn't pleasant and exacerbated bottom matters but hey - am learning that pregnancy throws many unpleasant ailments at you!!

i'm just desperate for it to be over now, want to say hi to my baby, and hi to my feet again - and soon!!

Make sure that you're not constipated, because that will exacerbate the problem. Try lying with your bum elevated, you can also try applying ice to the affected area!
