Hi,
I'm really keen to get tickets for Robbie Williams this weekend. I want the standing tickets as I feel the atmosphere will be better and closer to the stage and something is have always done.

But my partner is saying we should get seating... does anyone have any thoughts on it?

I feel like my energy levels are pretty good right now but don't want to do anything stupid towards the baby of course...

No I wouldn't stand because people can push past you and wedge you into the people in front. If you stood at the back edges it might be okay, but then you might as well just sit

hellosunshineagainxxx · 26/10/2022 15:54

I just did a standing concert at 18 weeks for my favourite band and I just spent the whole time wishing it to end.

I went to the Stone Roses at finsbury park when 34 weeks, no option but to stand.
All totally fine, apart from the toilet situation (long queues)
One of the stewards saw me and directed me to the accessible loo and told me to return there each time, for which I was very grateful!

Hoppinggreen · 26/10/2022 15:54

No, I did one at 15 weeks and just wanted to go home

OctopusBreath · 26/10/2022 15:57

I did one at about 20 weeks and I had to go and sit on the floor at the back after a while. I don't know how pregnant women do it when they have to work at jobs where they're standing all day. I have the utmost respect for them!

theshadeofgreen · 26/10/2022 16:13

I saw Robbie last weekend in Birmingham and managed to stand very close. Because the stage has a runway to it there was lots of pushing and shoving whenever he walked closer, impossible to turn around and very, very hot!!

I'd really recommend seated. I saw him on his last tour (heavily 😅) pregnant, seated, and it was much more comfortable. Still managed to get up and have a dance but had somewhere to sit when I needed to.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 26/10/2022 16:15

I wouldn’t just because of the potential pushing and shoving

wibblewobbleball · 26/10/2022 16:17

I did an outdoor standing concert in the summer and was fine - I would have been about 28-30 weeks I think. My back hurt by the end and I was tired from the late night mind! And we also arrived quite late so that minimised standing time for me, but meant we didn't see support acts etc.

Motherofalegend · 26/10/2022 16:18

if you’re planning on going I’d call the venue and see if they can make an adjustment in the area for accessibility. Still stand but less likely to be pushed around.

DanniDryer · 26/10/2022 16:19

I did at 38 weeks and had a great time. However I stayed towards the back as I didn’t want to get jostled or squished, which maybe defeats the object for you.

Discovereads · 26/10/2022 16:20

God no! One sharp elbow or one drunk falling into or on you and you could be off to the hospital with trauma to your baby.

Go for seated.

muchprefersummer · 26/10/2022 17:04

I wouldn't stand. I went to a concert earlier this year (I'm not pregnant), but the pushing and shoving was constant and every way I faced I had either smoke, vape or weed blown in my face. People are not gentle when they barge past. I would go seated.

OhIdoLike2bBesideTheSeaside · 26/10/2022 17:06

No chance people will push you it'll be dark they won't see I wouldn't there's plenty of time to do concerts

SkylightSkylight · 26/10/2022 17:12

No. Partly because even in a bikini (and no one wants to see that) I'd be too hot, too uncomfortable balancing with the bump, sore feet etc but mainly because you don't know in advance how pushy those people will be. Some oaf pushing past, elbowing you hard in your stomach coukd do some damage.

I woukdnt be able to enjoy it. Seated all the way!

NoSki · 26/10/2022 17:14

If you’re happy to stand at the back, yes. No way would I want to try and get to the front and risk getting pushing or knocked, no one would notice even if you were 40years pregnant squished in.

golddustwomen · 26/10/2022 17:16

I'd sit. Your feet and back will thank you for it the next day Grin

I love going to gigs and am a total believer in standing is the best atmosphere, however I did seating for the red hot chilli peppers in the summer as that's all I could get my hands on and the atmosphere was still bloody brilliant!

I just did a standing concert at 18 weeks for my favourite band and I just spent the whole time wishing it to end.

Same as this PP! Travelled to London at 18 weeks this Saturday just gone and found it so tough I ended up leaving slightly before the end and really struggled to walk. I can only imagine how much tougher than would be in another 10 weeks' time!

Also - I've got a wicked nasty cough now that is likely related to being stood in a big crowd of people.

BeanieTeen · 26/10/2022 18:55

It just depends really - you might be fine and might not. Last week I had terrible pelvic pain at 25 weeks that came out of no where, now I’m fine again. I would always get seats just in case. It will be no fun if you’re are uncomfortable, got people barging into you, feeling particularly bloated that evening etc it won’t be much less fun to have a seat.

Changenameobviousreasons · 26/10/2022 20:38

I went to see guns n roses standing at 36wks. Had it not have been a heatwave (2017 in the greenhouse that is the Olympic stadium) I would have been fine. Also, they let you take your own water and snacks if you're pregnant 😊

CatHatSat · 26/10/2022 20:48

No way. The pushing being the main concern, another is my blood pressure suddenly dropped and I’ve been told to not to spend too long standing up.

I would also worry about varicose veins, but I’m a bit vain like that.

AmyAW · 26/10/2022 21:44

I did a festival at about 25 weeks. Hard work, but good fun! If you feel able to stand for long periods, go for it, but second the advice about not being too close to the front.

firsttimelondonmummy · 26/10/2022 22:52

I’ve just booked gig tickets (standing) and all being well I’ll be 7 months 1 week.
People are usually pretty considerate at the bigger venues and you can always stand at the back if you feel uncomfortable.

redlou123 · 26/10/2022 23:20

I went to a standing outdoor concert this summer at 26 weeks pregnant. We paid for gold circle tickets though so we were close to the stage, but stood at the back of that section so we had more room. It was generally fine (and the baby seemed to love dancing around to the music 😂) but my back was getting sore by the end of it. There's no way I would have done it in general admission though unless I was right at the back of the crowd as I would have been really squashed and pushed around far too much.

I also attended an indoor concert at 32 weeks and was so glad we had seated tickets. There was no chance I could have managed with standing tickets by then. I really felt the difference between the two dates.

I definitely think it is doable at 28 weeks but it will really depend on how you are feeling on the day.
