I'm 35 weeks and have a section booked for 38 weeks. But it's looking very likely that I have GD - currently awaiting blood test glucose tolerance results.

What are the chances of them moving my section forwards? Baby has gone from 9th centile to the 90th in about five weeks and her abdomen is measuring off the scale. I am carrying a lot of amniotic fluid - basically there are worrying signs.

I didn't have a glucose tolerance test before yesterday because my midwife didn't arrange one and I didn't know I had to have one! I had a growth scan on Friday which revealed the worrying signs and was immediately booked for Monday.

I know precisely zero about GD - any advice/experience welcomed!

No advice sorry, but I was refused a GTT test at 34 weeks as I was too far gone. Diabetes consultant refused my referral and has taken a guess that I don’t have it, despite baby being on the 97th centile throughout and growth scan measured 6.7lb at 33weeks.

I was diagnosed at 34 weeks after an emergency scan for other reasons. If you can get your blood sugar under control before the birth then baby is less likely to struggle to control their blood sugar in the first few days. DC born at 38 weeks and blood sugar was fine. I was on insulin from diagnosis, which was a 3 day stint of testing blood sugars before and after each meal.

Look at the Gestational Diabetes UK website and Facebook group for brilliant advice and good luck
