Hi,

I know only I can make decision but would like to get ours views so I can come to conclusion. I'm 27 and immunopressed so have always had my flu vaccine and COVID vaccines last few years - first it was astra then they withdrew that in under 30s I believe but already had so second time I got Pfizer. It's been Pfizer twice now and this 3rd one they want whilst pregnant is Moderna - I'm unsure especially being pregnant but caught on immune side.

I do feel I'd definitely have the flu vaccine as it seems like that's been done years and least it protects against flu or will try to!
I just wondered if anyone is currently pregnant and had their flu vaccine this year or even both and how things were?
Or if any thoughts even if not!
GP advises but to me today I seen about miscarriage risk with moderna then another says it will protect against complications agh

Not this year but last year I had my first 2 covid jabs whilst pregnant. I can’t remember which it was (either Pfizer or Moderna). I was about 8 weeks for the first and 20 something weeks for the second. I was booked to have my 3rd during pregnancy but baby came before I had it. My baby is now 9 months and completely healthy. I didn’t have any issues during my pregnancy.
I felt the risk of covid whilst pregnant was much higher than the risk of the jab.

During my last pregnancy (baby born April 22) I had covid vax, covid booster, covid (horrific), an x ray and flu and whooping cough vax. Baby totally normal.

I can’t stress enough how horrific covid while 36 weeks pregnant was. It was the milder strain (March 2022, omicron I think?) and I was fully vaxxed and boosted. Dread to think how it would have been if I hadn’t been vaxxed.

Where are you getting your information about miscarriage risk?

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists’ advice is very clear that pregnant women and their babies are safer with up to date vaccination:

Dr Victoria Male is also helpful on this:

I had both flu and Covid vaccines a couple of weeks ago (Moderna) at 28 weeks pregnant. Felt rough for 48 hours but completely worth it IMO, Covid can be incredibly dangerous in the 3rd trimester and there's so much of it about at the moment.

I had flu jab a few weeks ago and it was absolutely fine, no side effects.

At 36w I had my flu and covid on the same day. One in one arm and one in the other. I've been fine, 38w now and still all good x

Had my flu and covid jabs whilst pregnant and now have a beautiful healthy baby boy and was well protected when I did end up catching covid when he was 3 weeks old!

I’ve had both my covid and flu vaccine recently. Even though I’m a nurse by background and normally wouldn’t think twice, my work were offering them to us as I turned exactly 6 weeks. 2 months earlier I had an early miscarriage at 6 weeks. I still hadn’t decided that morning then work advised 3 people had gone off with covid!
I had the Pfizer jab the first 3 doses and had moderna this time at 6 weeks, I then had the flu jab at 7+1. Flu jab just an achey arm, covid jab side effects for an afternoon. Had an early scan at 8+1 and measured a couple of days ahead with a good heartbeat.
So I’m pleased with the decision I made.

I had the updated Moderna booster at 9 weeks on advice of my obstetrician and am booked in for my flu jab on Monday. Other than a sore arm, I felt fine after my booster and baby boy is so far perfect ☺️ For me, it was a risk:benefit thing. I would rather risk the tested/recommended vaccines than the illnesses. Chat with your GP/midwife if you’re concerned. It’s a personal choice and you can only make the best decision for you.

I had the flu jab this morning at 10 weeks and I’m feeling absolutely fine so far. I caught flu in 2019 and I was horrendously ill with it, I wouldn’t want to go through that again when pregnant.

My baby is 9 months and I had both my covid injections, flu jag and whooping cough during pregnancy. Shes perfectly healthy. Hope this helps.
