Not really sure how to explain and I've tried googling! Often I feel like I'm desperate to pee and then I go and it trickles out so slowly...anyone had this?! I'm 15 weeks and before pregnancy no problems peeing at all! Sometimes it feels like I can't empty my bladder fully, it's so annoying! Will tell midwife at appointment on Monday too but any insight most appreciated!

Are you constipated?

Have you tried adjusting your position a bit? I find I only get a decent flow if I lean forward a lot whilst weeing. I don't know when this started for me but I feel like it was fairly early on (I'm now 37 weeks)

Perhaps a little bit...

Yes, I'm wiggling around like a mad person!

If your rectum is loaded it could be obstructing your urethra a bit. Good old glycerine suppositories might be the answer. At 15 weeks your uterus might still be sitting low in your pelvis, especially if it is even slightly retroverted. Either way getting your bowels moving might help.

Sounds like constipation to me.

When you say it trickles slowly, do you mean there's a lot that comes slowly or just a little amount that comes slowly? If it's the latter it could be a UTI

Sometimes it feels like I can't fully empty my bladder but then feeling to go does ease...it's just so frustrating when I'm desperate to go and then the slowest stream comes out!!!

Also do you know if you've got a retroverted (tilted) uterus? I ended up in hospital with a catheter at 16 weeks due to baby at that stage sitting on or obstructing my urethra - my sister had the same.

endofthelinefinally · 21/10/2022 17:16

Yes, if it is frequent small amounts and stings/burns it could be a UTI. Only you will know if the amount is reasonable wrt your fluid intake. As pp said, much depends on the total quantity you pee each time, even if it is slow.

I just leant so far forward on the loo, almost with my nose to the floor (lol) and out it flowed!!!! The relief!!

Try putting your feet up on something at the same time as leaning forwards and see if it gives you the same effect without having to go so far forward

Having feet up helps with doing a poo more easily too Smile
