Im 6+2 with my much wanted 1st baby. 2nd pregnancy.
I have absolutely no idea why I am convinced of this, I mean all is progressing as it should, I'm taking all my supplements, resting etc. But I feel like I'm just waiting for the day a miscarriage starts.

I had a MMC in November last year and my due date this time is exactly 12 months on.

How do I get past this?

@DrinkingAllTheGin I hope you are okay, in my first pregnancy I had brown on and off for 7/8 weeks never went red but brown quite often! Xxxx

I've had bleeding in both pregnancies and thankfully all fine.

Don't always panic (easier said than done!) my midwife and the sonographer actually told me that brown/even red is much more common than we are lead to believe. They said it could be a simple as cervical irritation. So much is changing in there and being pushed around that it can be completely normal.

Good luck with your pregnancy x

50% of pregnancies with bleeding make it to a healthy baby at the end. That statistic used to help me a lot when I bled almost constantly between 6 and 16weeks - sometimes bad enough to be hospitalised. Baby is now a brilliant 2yr old.

We spent an inordinate amount of time in EPU and they were always very relaxed about brown blood. Very very common in early pregnancy. And even all of my red blood turned out okay in the end so all hope is not lost.

Can you ask a friend to come over this week if you're alone? Distraction used to help me the most when things were awful.

I know this has the opposite effect for some people, but with my last pregnancy after 2 miscarriages - I had private scans every 2 week up until 12 week scan. Then again at 16 week. Really reassured me!

@DrinkingAllTheGin many women have spotting and bleeding during early pregnancy and the vast majority will have a healthy baby.

I know it's hard but try not to worry.

Wishing you all the best.

custardbear · 24/10/2022 12:58

Bleeding can just be the pregnancy settling on, it's very normal - sorry you're alone dealing with this 🥺

InTheFourthAtMalloryTowers · 25/10/2022 19:41

Brown spotting? Sounds like good old implantation blood. I had that both times and it lasted a couple of days.

Wishing you all the best.

I'm sure most of you won't remember this thread from October but just thought I would pop back and update.
I'm now 38+3 and bubs is doing well. C-section is booked for Tuesday. Despite my fears we have made it!

I just wanted to say congratulations. It does give me some hope I've had 1 mmc and another early one. Pregnant now 12 weeks tomorrow. Scan next week and I've convinced myself it's never going to happen. So this was nice to read.

PinkButtercups · 11/06/2023 21:15
