At what point to see a midwife/doctor with pelvic girdle pain?

That's it really!
I've had it for a few weeks but very very mildly where it'd only hurt if I was in a weird position. But this morning me and DH had sex around 6.30-7 and it's been really hurting ever since and getting worse

I don't know whether to just wait it out because I know there's nothing that can really be done, but does the midwife and doctors need to be aware of it and diagnose it to make sure it's nothing else?

I'm 32+3 today

Thanks!

There absolutely is some things that can be done, you can be referred for antenatal physio. I had it in my first pregnancy even during covid and it was a godsend, I went from having to drag myself around the house by holding on to furniture to merrily toddling around at full term.

Do you have a support belt as well?

If you can afford to go private for physio or an osteopath then really recommend getting an appointment as soon as you can as referrals have a huge wait time.

It’s definitely good to tell your midwife and make sure it is noted in your notes and birth preferences as some positions in labour will be more comfortable than others.

I found Yoga really helpful for my PGP and also had exercises using the birth ball that my osteopath recommended.

Actually @he1620 physio and massage help! I've had it so severe this pregnancy but I've been getting massage for it and physio and it has helped a lot. Still painful but I'm functioning (just about now as I'm 34 weeks). But it really helped at the beginning and second trimester of this pregnancy. I wish I'd known about that my first pregnancy too.

P.s mine was all private. Costly but worth it and needed for me.

Thank you for all of your comments! I don't have a support belt or anything as it's only come on today suddenly!
I can't afford to go privately but I will give my midwife a ring now to let her know ☺️

Yes, the belt will help immediately. They should refer you for physio. Chiropractic is good too but that needs to be private. Also, ice the very very base of your spine - some of the pain is often inflammation from the pelvis moving around. Icing down there can help.
