Induction on Monday, want a section

So about ten days ago a random consultant booked me an induction on Monday at 38+3 based on baby size after a scan/potential undiagnosed diabetes etc. It was a 5 min conversation and I was waved out the door.
had midwife appt yesterday at 38weeks, ketones now in urine (probably due to low carb diet) and baby head still floating about my pelvis.
she agreed an induction could be long and hard and take days - she couldn’t even attempts sweep.
midwife has asked me to go to my induction appt at hospital on Monday morning as planned but to ask to speak to the consultant properly. I’ve spoken with midwife how a c section might be best if it’s best for baby to come now and midwife said to raise that on Monday at my induction. She said she didn’t see why they couldn’t schedule one for me if that’s what I wished.
has anyone made this change last minute? I mean the whole induction was hastily booked but has anyone turned up for an induction and then asked for a section and it’s been ok? I understand i might need to go back a different day potentially….

Personally I'd ring the labour ward/where ever your due to go on Monday this weekend and ask them. I'm booked for a section next week if I don't go into labour before hand as I've refused induction, I have to go in the day before for pre-op tests etc and yesterday they couldn't book an elective section for me until next Wednesday so if you just turn up Monday and refuse the induction you may be sent home until they have a section slow available which is wasting your time really x

I refused induction with #2 after having a failed one with #1 and being exhausted for my CS. Went straight to a CS with #2. Call them up and say you've changed your mind, you don't want an induction but you do want a section. Your birth, your choice.

I phoned up and consultants are sparse on the weekend so just been told to turn up and express my wishes. I hope it goes well…

Yes I did change my mind last minute. My dd was born in December last year at 38+1. All through my pregnancy I was persuaded to have a VBAC. I was never fully comfortable with this but decided to go with it.
At 36 weeks I was diagnosed with a liver condition which meant baby had to come sooner rather then later.
Long story short, I turned up for my induction at 37+3 and found the initial examination really painful! My cervix was no where near 'ready' for labour is how the midwife described it. She was still happy to go ahead and try the balloon for induction. Despite me being reluctant to speak up, I did and the consultant agreed to me having a c section. It was booked for 5 days later.
Apologies for slightly long post but just wanted to explain properly to reassure you that it is possible to do this.
Good luck op , I hope everything goes well for you 😊

Thank you @Cheesywiggles thats very good to hear. I’m hoping because there are medical reasons (and my mental health - scared to eat carbs because of the assumption I may have diabetes / low carbs causing ketones) I won’t meet much resistance!

Well done OP and good luck. I had a section 4 months ago and all was fine and I'm sure it will be for you too. Now just try and relax and get ready to meet your little one! X
