Hello!

I have recently stopped taking my mini pill (3rd october) I bled after which has now stopped.

I downloaded the flo app, and it said I should be ovulating now but my test strips say I am not?

How soon after do you ovulate when coming off the pill?

I probably should wait until my period comes to calculate ovulation dates more.

I have had unprotected sex last week and this week.

Excited to fall pregnant ☺️

Thanks
Emma

Hi OP!

It can sometimes take time for your ovulation and periods to regulate after coming off of the pill. It is different for every woman, it could be a month or it could take months to regulate again

Flo works off of the average woman’s cycle so I would continue taking test strips and marking your periods on flo app so over time flo will predict your cycles better to suit your body

I find that having sex every 2 / 2 days from the day my period finishes helps me feel like I’ve covered all bases because I know ovulation strips are great for a guide but aren’t 100%

Good luck!

Currently due our rainbow baby in May 2023 🌈

Thank you so much. I have been taking the ovulation sticks every day- and it's such a disappointment when it says I'm not! I know I have only just come off pill but I'm like come on!!

Ahh amazing - good luck with your baby. Hopefully I can join you also next year ☺️xxx

Hi OP, I second what precious poster said, definitely keep doing the tests and not go off the app.
I’d wait until your next period and then start the test strips again (I think it’s day around 10 of your cycle from memory). I always ovulated later in my cycle to what the app said and some people ovulate earlier, it’s not that accurate for everyone.

You might get more advice if you post on the Conception boards. I know I use to be in a few ttc chats on there which were really helpful. Good luck

Wait until you’ve had a period and then start testing. It might be a couple of months so prepare yourself.

Also - take ovulation tests in the afternoon and evening, not the morning, as LH is highest then. Your peak can come and go in a few hours so worth checking regularly.

I thinking getting to know your cycles is quite important so you know what is normal for you.
For example, do you have any ovulation pain or changes in cervical mucus. For me, these signs were a better indication of ovulation than the tests.
Try to keep notes throughout your cycle as to what you are noticing and really hone in if you can

Thank you ladies! Yes I may take ovulation sticks once I've had a period and go from there, il keep app and track when my period comes and start there!
Weird thing is my stomach is getting pains atm, not sure what they are- thought they was ovulation pains but I'm not ovulating according to sticks!

I've only just started trying so I know won't happen right away, just was confused about the ovulating as heard it's best to try most at those times! Xx
