Hi, I’m 31 weeks pregnant and had a scan the other day that showed our baby has left boarderline ventriculomegaly, the measurement has sat between 9.5/10.5mm for the last week, But just wondered if anyone has any experience/advice as I’m now super worried. After looking online it looks like the baby will probably be normal but there’s always that risk. :(

Below 10mm is 'normal', so please remember that! Where it is 10.5 it could be that the baby was even not in the best position for the measurement. Baby's vents can also change size at different points of pregnancy. My daughter's 9.7mm one day and at a scan a few days later they were back to 7mm.
Try not to Google, it fills you with more worry than needed! If hospital were concerned they would refer you to fetal medicine, and even if they do, that's just so you're seen by specialists. Sending love 💙

My son was at 12mm at 20 week scan. We had an MRI and then ultrasounds scans every couple of weeks throughout pregnancy. It had resolved by the time he was born but I remember it being one of the worst times in my life as doctors really uncertain about what it might or might not mean in terms of possible learning difficulties or disability etc. We have had to get his head measured regularly but our boy is now 3 and is just amazing with no issues at all. In my experience it really helped us to read some of the medical journal studies about ventriculomegaly and outcomes as that helped put it in perspective and mean we were prepared if we needed to be. Also don't be afraid to ask the hospital questions however minor. We found that midwives didn't know much about it but consultants were great at explaining everything.
