33 weeks and time is going sooo slow

I feel like the last few weeks I've been pregnant for years! Decades in fact! Second trimester was slowish this time round but still ok and I kept busy as I was able to move. Now I'm struggling to drive, SPD is in full swing and I'm all out of ideas on activities to do with DC1. Baby things are all prepped and I'm just sat (uncomfortably) waiting for this baby to make an appearance. I'm also huge and constantly have people saying 'only few days left now!'.. erm no not quite!! I have no idea how I'll lose all this weight afterwards SadSadSad

I'm 32 weeks next week and so exhausted mentally and physically. Still working non stop always on my feet. SPD, Sciatica, PGP and still going. 3 more weeks till maternity leave. CANNOT WAIT

nannyquestion1 · 17/11/2022 09:40

If it's any consolation the wait is SO worth it.

@nannyquestion1 congratulations! What a beautiful baby. 💝

I'm 33+1 and definitely feeling this, mainly due to the backache and acid reflux. Also just can't wait to meet my baby girl after waiting what feels like forever for her.

However at the same time I'm also terrified of childbirth and feeling the nerves about caring for a newborn (this is my first), so there's a part of me which isn't wishing time away 😅

RainbowsMoonbeams · 17/11/2022 11:25

@nannyquestion1 Congratulations. She is so beautiful.

Hope you are both doing well.

greenerfingers · 17/11/2022 12:57

Aww @nannyquestion1 congratulations! She's so precious 🥰. I keep telling myself it's only a few more days and I'll have a little baby at the end of it but it's so hard.

Totally relate to you ladies with the working and PGP, SPD. I worked till 37.5 and it was so hard but at the same time I think mentally it kept me busy which was good. No winning with pregnancy 🤪

@nannyquestion1 awww congrats!

@greenerfingers 38+4 today. Still banking on minimum another 2 weeks if I'm lucky enough not to be as late as I was with DD. Really tired and uncomfortable, still getting so much pressure down below and lots of relatively painful Braxton hicks. Also unsure how much bigger I can possibly get!!

I feel you! I'm 35w+4 and massive, feel like I can barely move. Just waiting for baby now, lots of pelvic pain, feeling a bit miserable.

I also have started getting cramps in back/uterus every time I walk/stand for too long. Fun. Fun.

greenerfingers · 18/11/2022 19:42

We probably have the same due date @OK92. I'm 28th November. The next 10 days feel an era. I keep telling myself it could be much longer but it does nothing, I just want it over with and early baby this time. Doesn't help all my friends have had theirs early and are done.

I'm sorry @MsCactus. It's so painful and demotivating. Can you book in some massages? Anything nice to look forward to? I did for up to 37 weeks.. and then since it's then it's been downhill 😅

scottishmomma · 18/11/2022 19:48

This is so me! I'm 35 weeks and everyone I see says "oh you're sitting so low you'll go any day now"
I'm like how do you know!?! 😂

OK92 · 18/11/2022 20:46

@greenerfingers I'm due 27 Nov. Have you had any signs of anything happening or not yet? I'm already getting messages checking in to see if baby has arrived 🤦🏻‍♀️

motleymop · 18/11/2022 20:52

Oh gosh, I am dreading this! I'm only 24 weeks and already impatient, but no SPD yet and I can't face it!! It was awful at night the last time round.
Hang in there!!!

greenerfingers · 18/11/2022 21:34

@OK92 I had what I thought was my mucus plug coming apart but that stopped as soon as it started and I've had absolutely zero signs. Baby is still so high up and hasn't even engaged. I'm also getting texts and calls 'checking in'. Driving me mad as I'm already so impatient.

OP posts:
OK92 · 20/11/2022 20:02

@greenerfingers I'm also still carrying high! I can't seem to remember if I really 'dropped' with my first though. 39 weeks today so telling myself hopefully only 2 weeks or less to go. I've had 0 signs so far, bloody exhausted now.

scottishmomma · 22/11/2022 21:01

All the comments from people "checking in" really don't help do they when the weeks feel as long as they do already. I'm tired of people I don't know (shop workers etc) saying how I look like I could go any day ...

greenerfingers · 22/11/2022 23:41

I haven't even hit my due date and have been getting those for weeks now @scottishmomma. In fact I've been getting it for months as I'm so big this time round. It's really frustrating and makes time seem like it's going even slower for me.

I'm 34+4 today and booked in for 37 weeks to get the babies out. Taking it week by week at the moment as my BA's seem to keep rising. Hopefully the midwife will phone me today with the results from yesterday and hoping they've gone down 🤞🏼. Had a lot of BH's and really really dropped. I don't think these babies are staying in until 37 weeks but 🤞🏼 they will.

greenerfingers · 25/11/2022 02:57

Feeling absolutely miserable tonight and can't sleep. Woke to pee and now stuck here wide awake and sore. 39+4 today and it seems like this baby will never come out, especially as they told me it would be early and a preemie 😞. The anticipation and wait has been so long. I feel so mentally done that I don't even know whether I'm excited anymore or just counting down the days for this to be over with now. Sorry for the rant and no idea if anyone will see this at this time anyway.

OutofControl3 · 25/11/2022 03:04

I'm awake! I'm 33.4 wks pg. Had a flu jab other day and that's making me feel groggy plus pain in my calve where I had cramp. So I'm feeling very sorry for myself. You havnt got long to go even if you go over its only another 2 weeks x

terryschocolateorangee · 25/11/2022 03:16

Oh op I'm sorry. I was absolutely completely miserable my last pregnancy. I don't even know how I got through it, it bloody drags. I ended up with a c section at 36 weeks though. The spd was horrific.

Are you doing all the weird and wonderful things people suggest to kick start labour? A spicy 3am curry?

@greenerfingers I know it’ll be the last thing that you want to hear OP but it’s really not long now 😅 there’s only so long that baby can stay in there. It’ll feel even longer because you were told to expect baby to be early 😬😓 but realistically baby staying in all this time is much healthier for them 👏🏼 You know it’ll all be worth it in the end. Think of that scrunched up little newborn sleeping on you and having the best cuddle ☺️ And do I need to remind you about the newborn smell?! 😍

25th November sounds like a lovely birthday, don’t you think? 🤔 Everything crossed for you that today is the day 🤞🏼

I'm "due" (lol, whatever that means) the day after you, I've had mad insomnia for the past few nights, hallucinating cramps because that's how my first labour started. Last week I was chilled and zen about it all and yesterday flipped to so impatient and done. Even got my breast pump out this evening to see if that would do anything. Then realised I don't want to go into labour now on so little sleep 🤪 agghh. It's a stressful time right at the end isn't it, the uncertainty of it all. Hope you have a better day today!

greenerfingers · 25/11/2022 05:52

Thank you ladies for the responses. I know you're right and later I'll look back and think 2 week wait after 9 months?! Why was I being so impatient? The last 3 weeks have just finished me off, the SPD has been so bad I was thinking of an elective then quickly snapped out of that when I remembered my toddler.

I've tried all the natural induction methods, was even given a sweep at 39 weeks and it did nothing at all other than aggravate my SPD so didn't bother with the follow up ones.

Finally managed to sleep and was woken at 4:30 by my toddler having wet himself through his clothes and mattress, just finished that clear up and he's sound asleep in my bed. Ah the joys of pregnancy with a toddler 🤪. Maybe this is the trick to kick start labour.. let's see 😅😭

I hope you both get some relief @jumpingjackcrash and @OutofControl3. I also got my breast pump out and after a week of feeling calm and accepting I'll probably go to my due date (didn't with my first) I suddenly flipped yesterday too and then didn't get a chance with the pump because of toddler demands. Now I'm wondering if I have the energy to even go through labour after last night and all the laundry I have to do.

Thank you for the kind words @Isthatmcormac and @terryschocolateorangee. Let's hope 25th/11 it is!

@greenerfingers It’s really rough when the SPD is so bad but please just try and rest up as much as you can! Easier said than done with a toddler around, I know 🤣😅

My SPD was so bad that I was determined to do anything possible to kick start things. I had an induction booked due to babys size but it was still 4 days away and I was at my wits end 😫 I went out for a very vigorous uphill walk, came home and sat down, went to stand up an hour later and the pain was indescribable 😔 I have a relatively high pain threshold and I literally could NOT stand up because of the pain when I tried to. I also couldn’t lie down or move much at all 😔 and I couldn’t open my legs to more than shoulder width apart.

I called the maternity ward and unfortunately there was no availability for an earlier induction. This was during covid lockdown. I was advised that I could either stay at home and manage myself until my induction date or I could be admitted for proper pain relief but I would have to go into the main hospital (which was rife with covid at the time) 😓
I had to stay at home for the 4 days, sat in the same spot all day and night, being lifted off the couch by DH to pee 😔
It took me 45 mins to get into the car when it was time to go to the hospital and I then had to be induced in that state which was an experience 😬

Its not worth it. Rest up and let baby come when it’s ready 😅

Updating to say baby was born today 🎉 and oh man does it feel amazing to be able to lay down, walk, turn etc! The SPD symptoms eased straight away but I know the sore defeated muscles will show to tomorrow. Anything is better than lugging a baby around inside than out!

@greenerfingers Ahhh, congratulations ☺️ I’m so glad that the SPD went away quickly 😊 I hope you and baby are doing well. Enjoy all the cuddles and soaking up that newborn smell 😍
