Freezing breastmilk tips

Hello everyone

Just have a few questions regarding freezing breast milk.

So when it's defrosted, are you supposed to warm it up? If so, how?

Also, what's the procedure for collecting that milk (sorry forgotten the name!) Whilst pregnant?

Thank you and hope it makes sense!

Colostrum? I haven’t done this as never produced any pre birth but I believe you collect and store 🏬 n little syringes. I put the bottle of defrosted breast milk in a bowl and pour in hot water. Take the bottle out and swirl it around a few times until the temperature is even. This is the same way I heat up pre made formula. My first DS sometimes liked it cold though, strange child, I think it was when he was teething.

You can warm it by placing the bottle/ syringe in a warm container of water but don't have to.

When you express before birth you need to wait until you are 37 weeks (I think it is) and your midwife can give you syringes your collect it in and then freeze those.

Expressed breast milk lasts for 4 hours out on the side, 5 days in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer.

Hi.
I'd say when you pump- put the milk in the bag along with the date and how much there is (as the bags are never accurate with their oz's)
I took them out of the freezer a good few hours before using and put them in the fridge to defrost and then put the bag in a mug/bowl of hot water and it was warm in seconds xx
