Hi all,

I’m not getting a huge amount of information out of my midwife or hospital so I was hoping anyone with similar experiences might be able to share some advice!

I had LLETZ back in 2018 for abnormal cells and therefore had my cervix measured during this pregnancy (my first but had a prior early mc) and at 16 weeks it was 3.7cm.

I went for my 20 week scan last week and my cervix was 3.1cm.

Having spoken to my midwife, I’m going to be checked again on Monday (at 22 weeks) to see if there is any change.

My question is, should I be alarmed by a 0.6cm change in 4 weeks? Should I push for a cervical stitch to be on the safe side regardless of the measurement on Monday?

Thank you in advance ☺️

I can't comment on the length as I don't know anything about that sorry! But I saw your post and wanted to just recommend you discuss the possibility of scar tissue on your cervix with your midwife/hcp. I had dd 8 months ago and I was told there was no risk to my pregnancy and labour after lletz, and it turned out I was unable to give birth naturally because my cervix wouldn't dilate due to scar tissue. I ended up having to have an emcs and really wished I'd be mentally prepared for the possibility. Congratulations on your pregnancy 😊 hope all goes well x

Anything above 2.4 they don't worry. Mine shortened in my first pregnancy from 3.3 to 2.3 in one week, I was then put on progesterone and at 32 weeks bed rest. All was fine and DD arrived at 40+5. This time my cervix was monitored up to 24 weeks, and went from 3.5ish to 3, they weren't worried as it was well within the normal range and I was induced at 39 weeks for other reasons.

These are the NICE guidelines if it helps - our hospital also don't worry unless the cx is below 2.5mm. I hope your pregnancy goes well!
