Early scan 5 weeks, nothing seen

Has anyone had a scan around 5 weeks and not seen anything but then went on to see something later.

Three prev miscarriages, holding out for hope here.

@Feathe I'm sorry this is happening to you. I had an ectopic in June and my HCG levels were decreasing, thankfully I was treated via "expectant management" basically where they take your bloods every 48 hours for about a week, then every week until your HCG decreases to nothing.

Have they spoken to you about methotrexate? I don't think they like to use it if the person is experiencing pain but it avoids surgical intervention.

Praying for you both that it isn't ectopic and all is fine!

I have a scan on Friday morning at 6 weeks to check this pregnancy isn't ectopic x

Have you had a scan before now or hcg etc?

Was it an internal scan?

I had an abdominal scan that saw nothing and an internal scan that saw a sac

@vegang yes I had internal and a normal scan. Both didn't see a thing.

My dates could just be off as I don't have a 'normal cycle' if that makes sense. My average cycle is 36 days long. So I've maybe just over estimated the dates.

i had a clear blue which said 2-3 so should have been 4-5 but according to my periods I should have been 7 weeks. I also have polysistic ovaries and irregular periods.

i had an ectopic pregnancy 2 years with removal of Fallopian tube so I thought I was going through the same thing again.

my HCG levels have been increasing every 48 hours and today they finally confirmed it’s looking like a viable pregnancy however I am only 6 weeks.

if your saying you have irregular periods then it quite possibly could be your dates, I am praying for you and hoping for good luck🤞

@Klb18 hi, how did they confirm this? By bloods? Did you get any sort of scans etc?

I went last Wednesday to have a reassurance scan, they said they could see potentially a pregnancy but we’re concerned that my dates didn’t match my clear blue. They took my bloods and rang me later in the afternoon to say they were 1050. I was asked to go back on the Friday to have more bloods (no scan) they rang me in the afternoon to say my bloods were 2205 so they believe I am just too early and that my clear blue is right 2-3 meaning 4-5.

i was asked to go back today for another scan and they confirmed there is a teenie tiny pregnancy but they want to leave me alone now for 2 weeks and let nature take its course.

I took a clear blue last Tuesday, it said 1-2 weeks. I took one yesterday and it said 3+ weeks. Quite confusing? Not sure it is accurate if I'm honest.

Using nhs due date calculator, my avg cycle length is 36 days, when I've put this in, it's told me I am 4 weeks pregnant. So I could be 4, coming on 5. Hopefully they see a sac or something tomorrow. If not, I hope they do bloods which should confirm if ectopic or not. Fingers crossed.

Did you get your blood test results? Fingers crossed for you! I'm in the same boat - saw nothing on a scan, waiting for blood test results (they said they'd call last night....) - from LMP I'd be 7 weeks but I have PCOS so I think it's 4, hopefully will be confirmed by blood test ....
