Did they see anything on your early scan?

I'm about 5+3 days judging by my dates.

My last three pregnancies have failed before this so I'm feeling hopeful atleast.

I have an early scan this week due to my previous losses and also previously had an ectopic.

Just wondering if anyone has any stories of early scans and any reassurance :) x

Hello,

Just after some reassurance or positive stories if anyone can relate!

Had 3 early miscarriages this year. Currently pregnant, although had early scan at what i worked out was 8 wks pg but EPAU said they could see sac, yolk & fetal pole & said only 4mm so behind where theyd expect me to be. Have to wait 2.5 weeks for another scan. Has anyone been sure of dates & than had positive outcome at follow up scan?

I had a scan at 6 wks due to bleeding and they couldn't really see anything definite just the very beginning of a sac but no fetal pole. Then we went again at 8 weeks and at that point could see a heartbeat etc. Fingers and toes crossed it all works out for you op!!

Thanks! It's just a bit confusing as i know my dates & thought i was 8 wks so to only show as 6 or less they seemed concerned. Guess all a waiting game for now, early scan maybe not the best idea after all!

@Wishonastar4 could you have ovulated later? Although they use LMP to jntslky date pregnancy, you're technically 2 weeks at ovulation/conception so if that was later in your cycle, that would explain why dates aren't matching.

I had an early scan at 6+1 (dated from ovulation so I'm 100% sure of dates) and only measured 5-6 weeks but could see a heartbeat. At such an early stage, tenths of millimetres can can a difference from one day to the next so they say scan dates could be -5/+5 days from the given date.

Good luck with your follow up scan - hoping all works out!

Thank you. It's just such an anxious time isnt it! Possibly, i had a plus sign for ovulation the day after we dtd so im pretty sure it was 2 weeks following LMP qnd my cycles are pretty regular. Will try and remain positive & hopeful. Was just a worry there wasnt a heartbeat when they thought i was 6wks instead of 8. Time will tell! Thanks

I went at 6+2 was dated bang on and fetal pole was there.
No heartbeat yet, was told to come back in a weeks time but all looks good and that it came from my left ovary.
My Nan can’t believe they have the technology to do this!
I do think these early scans are a double edge sword though.
For me it’d make a loss significantly more painful (touch wood this doesn’t happen) once we hopefully see a heartbeat.
