Baby transverse at 31 weeks

Hi,

This is my first time posting on here. I’m currently 31 weeks pregnant & went for a midwife appointment earlier today where she told me baby was transverse head to the left & bum to the right lying horizontally.
its only when I’ve come home & googled, it’s got me worried with the complications if she doesn’t turn.
Midwife advised they wouldn’t do anything about it yet but could try to turn her using pressure but I’ve read that’s only 50% successful?

I had accupunture in early stages of pregnancy & I remember her telling me she could turn baby if this ended up being the case.

Just wondered if anyone else had/is in the same situation?
what did you do? Did anyone try accupunture for this?

Thanks in advance

My bump was measuring small and a scan showed he was transverse. I think this was roughly 32 weeks. Around 37 weeks another scan showed he had turned to the ‘correct’ position. I was so certain I’d feel him move I remember being shocked he was no longer sideways. Try not to worry, the chances of the baby moving between now and their due date are high.

My middle one was transverse until about 36 weeks when she turned the right way. Unfortunately as I also had placenta praevia I still needed a c-section.

i didn’t try acupuncture as I knew I had to have a section anyway.

Dd2 was transverse until about 36 weeks then went head down. They won't worry until 37 weeks but what helped with me was no slouching as apparently rly when you slouch on the sofa etc it gives them too much room towards your back. So I sat on my birthing ball as much as I could and I'd prop myself up on the sofa with cushions and in the car 😂 it worked for me good luck x

My baby turned from transverse to head down at about 34 weeks.

I've seen people online recommend "spinning babies" Instagram account which is about doing exercises/movements on a gym ball to help encourage the baby to turn. At 31 weeks though still plenty of time for them to move themselves- midwife's probably won't say much about it until closer to 36 weeks I think.

My last baby was transverse lie at 37+1 at a consultant appointment ( I had gestational diabetes) so as I have big babies and there was no room for him to turn ( he was 10lb at 38 weeks) and I was having a c section anyway as my previous baby was almost 12lb they kept me in and delivered him at 38 +1 as it was a bank holiday. They never mentioned trying to turn him as I guess he was too big? You have time for your baby to turn yet, so try not to worry- hope all goes well

I am also almost 32 weeks pregnant and the midwife confirmed baby is head up by my ribs. I think transverse based on movements. I've been doing some of the spinning babies positions but it's been in this position since 28 weeks so I'm thinking it's very cosy there 😅 hopefully they both turn before they need to!

I had a scan on Friday at 32 weeks and baby is transverse. I'm having a c section anyway so it doesn't really impact birth method for me. They won't worry until 36 weeks as after that point most babies don't have the space left to turn. That's when they'll offer to try and turn baby for you. But ds2 was breach at 38 weeks but managed to turn himself by 39 weeks. Dr said my fluid levels were high which gave him the extra room to turn at such a late stage, so it is possible they can turn themselves later
