Are there less movements if baby's head is engaged?

Up until last night I had strong movements and now they're more muted.

I'm 35 weeks and scare myself silly about all this. I'm just super anxious and don't help myself by googling.

Super sweet drinks or iced waters never worked for me.

I'm in work about 30 or so mins away from hospital. I'm not on with the people I'm normally on with so don't want to explain to him.

Any change in movement needs to be checked
I would worry about the placenta and blood supply at that stage in pregnancy it can get a bit old and tired

Ring day care and go in for a ctg. call them right away

No but the movement change ( kicks in the ribs instead of the bladder ) .

If you feel like you can't tell your supervisor you could say that maternity text you as your blood results came back abnormal and they need you in urgently to repeat them and to do some monitoring

The difference in outcomes is so huge here if the baby was in distress. A baby born at 35 weeks should be ok and strong enough. My son was born at 35 weeks and he is amazing and strong

If he had been left in distress inside me I can't even bare to think about it

So sorry you feel like you can't talk to your boss
How stressful for you

Thanks. He's not usually my boss. I work shifts and I'd usually be on nights atm. He's lovely so will be OK better to get checked out.

Please go and get checked.

100% get checked, please. I've been in for regular monitoring recently due to reduced movements and the midwives could not be clearer that every incidence of RFM needs to be checked out. And the walls of the maternity unit are plastered with posters saying the same thing. They would always rather make sure that everything is ok than have you worrying.

BertieBotts · 18/09/2022 10:09

Just get it checked. They would rather have you in and it be nothing, if it's not nothing then the quicker you get seen the more likely they can actually do anything. They don't recommend cold drinks any more.
