Did I have a miscarriage or not or what?

Long story short,

I got a positive pregnancy test on Monday, well 4 actually 2 Asda tests, one clear blue with a very obvious line and a digital saying 1-2 weeks later that night I got some light bleeding and yesterday I bled too, bright pink/ red blood. I went to the doctors who carried out observations and concluded I was having a miscarriage however bleeding has stopped and I took another digital test this morning and it says "pregnant 1-2 weeks" no idea what to think or feel. Is it a miscarriage or threatened miscarriage? If anyone has had a similar experience I would be so appreciated if you could share with me, I'm
A bit lost to be honest x

I'm so sorry you are going through this stressful time. I have sadly have 4 miscarriages at various stages of the first trimester (currently 38 weeks pregnant with my 5th pregnancy). If you are v early in the pregnancy (which is suggested by you just finding out and clearblue showing 1-2), you won't see anything on a scan at this point. My EPAU wouldn't scan me that early when I was in a similar position as they knew it wouldn't provide any answers. Unfortunately it is a case of waiting to see what happens. It could sadly be a miscarriage or it could just be a bit of implantation bleeding and everything is ok.

As others have said, there is no point doing multiple tests today as if it is a miscarriage, the hcg levels wouldn't have dropped yet. Also comparing the darkness of test lines on different brands of tests won't tell you anything as they all have different levels of sensitivity. I have previously used the cheap strip tests from Amazon daily to see if the test lines get lighter or darker (always using FMU so comparing like for like). It won't provide an immediate answer unfortunately but will give you a bit of an indication of the hcg is rising or falling over the next few days.

I had IVF and was bleeding 10 days post embryo transfer. It was not our first rodeo and I was gutted. We were supposed to test day 14 regardless of bleeding but even though I was still bleeding a bit on day 11, I had an urge to test. It was positive.

I kept bleeding but did the day 14 test, positive and much stronger. I rang the clinic and they asked to see me. They did a blood test, which was positive but said I was probably having a miscarriage, I should come back and see were the HCG levels doubling as they should.

When I went back, the levels had increased, but not nearly enough and everyone was very commiserating. I was booked in for a scan to check I had passed everything and a possible d and c. At the scan, there was the remnants of a wee sac, mostly broken down and beside it, a wee flicker. I was 5 weeks 6 days pregnant, but my son's heart was beating.

Losing one baby while the other grew was messing my results up.

I had red blood and cramps at almost 6w and was convinced the pregnancy was over but my daughter is now 10 weeks old. If you can contact your local Early Pregnancy Unit directly I would do that - much more experience than a GP. They might offer you a scan in a week or two if you are still testing positive - it needs to be at least 6-7 weeks to see a clear heartbeat. Mine was an IVF pregnancy and they made me wait until the scan I had scheduled at 7w. That week or two were some of the worst of my life so I feel for you. Hope everything turns out OK!
