Early scan with retroverted uterus

So today I had an early scan at 8+3 I'm fairly sure of dates as tracked with opks. The sonographer could see a gestational sac and a yolk sac but she wasn't 100% sure if there was a foetal pole. She dated me closer to 6 weeks

After a MC I had in June the gave me an internal scan in which they told me I had a retroverted uterus.

I have an appointment with the EPU in 10 days time but obviously I've been down a Google rabbit hole 😳

Anyone have any good stories for me? I read a retroverted uterus can make an early pregnancy scan difficult to read so this is sort of what I'm clinging to but not sure if it could really be that far out

Hi
I also have a retroverted uterus and have been through two pregnancies. It is trickier to to get a clear ultrasound scan in early pregnancy. My 12 week scans in both pregnancies involved lots of acrobatics 😂I actually didn't find out about having a retroverted uterus until about a year before I got pregnant for the second time. The first sonographer didn't think to explain why I was so tricky to scan.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Hello, I would love an input or if anyone else has had this. I had a scan at 8 weeks and all was normal, I have just had a scan today at 13 weeks and was told the uterus has tilted and is ‘ retroverted ‘. Will the uterus return to normal position as the pregnancy continues?

@ChloeJu usually when the baby gets bigger the uterus becomes upright and moves into the abdomen more. Lots of people have them from my reading it's a bit like saying your left handed. in pregnancy it can make early scanning a little more difficult but as far as I am aware doesn't cause any issues

@ChloeJu I had similar, never mentioned at 10 weeks but by 12 weeks it was tilted. By 15 weeks it was back to normal! I was told at my scan it isn’t tilted as the baby grows because it fills it out xx

I have one of those! One doctor who examined me many moons ago acted like he'd just found the holy grail! Said he'd read about them but never actually "seen" one.
